I listened to a man in his 60’s this weekend hash through how he still hasn’t learned to deal with his brother’s suicide nearly 20 years ago.
It solved nothing and creates a host of problems and trauma for the family left behind.
Ask for help. Nobody who matters will think any less of you. Just the opposite.
Choose life.

I don’t really care about the hypothetical. I don’t even really care that it’s the people who are the ideological vanguard of elite rationalism picking the eyebrow-raising option. I do care, however, that these rationalists are so monomaniacal about it

Everyone is clowning on Marc Andreessen and I think it is easy to, he's a billionaire so he's easy to hate, but the substance of what he is saying about introspection is... basically the central tenet of Mahayana Buddhism, that introspection is the unwise man's mindfulness
