@JCT600 Thank you. That wasn’t clear to me from the website. I’ve sent my complaint in.

@JCT600 your webpage for customer services doesn’t actually provide a phone number. How do I get in touch with your customer services to make a complaint please?

@chriscfrench really enjoyed your talk yesterday! You mentioned there are some examples of evidence that are hard to dismiss. I meant to ask, do you have any examples of this?

Is anyone else experiencing random tweets being shown to them from accounts they haven’t followed. Typically bordering on alt-right stuff. I’ve had vaccine and climate change denial shown to me several times now and have no idea who the account is tweeting it.

@timceducation @ismailmamaniat @NazamHussainEP @MazzucatoM Sounds very interesting. Yes, that can be the case in some schools. But I guess that’s (largely) the currency of schools - grades and outcomes. It’s interesting how we can also highlight the other things young people achieve outside of grades that indicate progress.

A colleague and I were discussing systemic work and promoting change within schools. Our discussion covered areas such as cognitive biases, how educational policy shapes classroom practice, the beliefs held by school staff, the difficult task of slotting into a pre-established

@AEP_Pippa Yes, very true - a self selected sample who coalesce around shared values. I guess that can be good or bad depending on the values and the outcomes it produces.

@_RichardGregory @ismailmamaniat @NazamHussainEP No worries, ye there's so much silo-ing! We've been working on ALIVE to bridge them, a psychosocial theory that brings existential phenomenology & psychology together (theory, measures, intervention). Hopefully that work will start coming out this year

@JonathanDowlin @ismailmamaniat @NazamHussainEP Thank you for these resources I’ll be sure to check them out. We frequently work in silos as psychologists so I’m always keen to see what others are doing. I couldn’t help but notice the reference to philosophy in your bio and wondered what types of philosophy do you draw upon?

@timceducation @ismailmamaniat @NazamHussainEP That’s a really interesting idea - do you have a reference? I do sometimes wonder if there are parallels between us and salespeople as we try to sell our wares in the marketplace of ideas. A part of this is convincing people it adds value to their work or outcomes.

@AEP_Pippa Yes, I think it’s a common (and understandable) perception amongst teachers. I wonder by what mechanisms it radiates? I’m thinking of ideas such as psychological climate, school culture and how systems are organised around values. I also wonder how staff interpret/resist this.

@JonathanDowlin @ismailmamaniat @NazamHussainEP I felt some of this fell into the domain of organisational psychology but could not find theories to ‘pin’ my ideas to as it were. Thank you for providing me with some starting points. Is there a paper/book that is a good starting point for getting to grips with org psych?

@_RichardGregory @ismailmamaniat @NazamHussainEP I would say organisational behaviour, work design, organisational psychology) :) If you want specific theories at the org level I would say Hackman & Oldham's job characteristics model (is the classic) and Frank Bond's Organisational Flexibility are good places to start

@AEP_Pippa This is a really helpful reflection! I also wonder about this and how they filter down through school systems. And to what extent directive vs. more autonomy supportive values affect school culture.

@_RichardGregory @ismailmamaniat Missed these questions! Where have u been? 🤣 I need some time to think about a response. Your ideas & thoughts make sense. The conditions for 'take up' interest me: interest convergence; opportunity cost/ benefit; conversations with those with power & influence, practical help
