@cutteroo My opinion is the plans to prevent this were not robust enough. Police, local authority and Scot Gov know this happens every year - it gets worse each time. Local people are terrified and essentially trapped in their homes whilst this happens. Dispersal zones are not enough!

@_Rock_N_Rolla_ It’s not your job, no. But you must have an opinion? Licensing/restricting the sale of fireworks might help but it’s not going to touch the root of the problem. I think the dispersal zone/ officer deployment plan /was/ pretty robust that’s all.

@cutteroo Is it my job to come up with something? No. Do I have the power to implement a more robust plan? No. Should the people whose job it is, and have the power, have done more than allow police officers to become target practice? Yes! Banning the sale of fireworks would be a start!

Driving would be hugely improved if we had a forward indicator for roundabouts. I'm 44 and still not 100% sure on how you show you're not going right or left at a roundabout.

potential hot take but my school allowed phones no matter what year group you were in, had free wifi, and encouraged you to use your phones in class to find information and it was one of the highest performing schools in the country, banning just makes kids want it more

@GillCraigie @chlveh You can’t access snapchat via the web…and I’d assume the other sites would be blocked. My daughter can’t get on to anything other than learning sites on her school iPad.

@_Rock_N_Rolla_ @chlveh They can access most social media through web browsers - they don’t need their phones or the apps, they just need to be smart enough to clear their history!

@GillCraigie @chlveh The difference with the school ipad is that it doesn’t have Snapchat/Instagram/Tik-Tok on it…which is what the majority of kids will use their phones for when using them in classes. Don’t think people realise the damage these apps are doing to our kids!

@chlveh When the take the phones off kids (as the did in my sons junior school) they hand them iPad anyway 😂
