I’ve had plenty of organic experiences where I have a fast track or preferential treatment because someone on the team is an Illini. Not the same value, but based on my concrete experience since graduating, it’s been huge

This is why expansion is a freaking terrible idea. 8 teams won't reach 25 wins and even some good teams have G- league talent in their rotation. League should do the opposite and drop down to 24 teams like the 80's. Deeper rosters, competitive hoop = better product.
