I'm sure Apple Passwords is great. But even after 9 years of using Apple products I still refuse to use anything that locks me into their ecosystem.
No iMessage, Photos, Notes, Maps, Music, or Passwords.
Thinking of switching back to Android soon, and it's going to be so easy.

Quietly, Java 25 just killed the last excuse for rewriting services in Rust or Go: Java 25 (Sept 2025) finalized Project Panama’s Vector API and Foreign Function & Memory API. Developers can now achieve genuine native SIMD performance in pure, safe Java no JNI, no Unsafe, no native builds. Real-world 2025 benchmarks from Alibaba, Goldman Sachs, and ad-tech firms show 6–20× speedups on JSON parsing, image processing, and cryptography while remaining fully portable and GC-friendly. Several planned Rust rewrites have already been cancelled.

I'm hoping #Defcon33 helps me through my mental slump. A year ago I lost my mom and I've been dealing with so much mental drain with work, imposter syndrome, and just feeling terrible and everything. Hoping a change in scenery and seeing hacker friends will help me through this.
