Very disturbing incident at Madhu Church today. 3 chicken were left at the alter. 2 were struggling. One was dead. When I pointed this out to the Priest the answer I got was even more disturbing- ignore and pray for yourself. Since when was animal sacrifice allowed by the church.

@SethFromColombo @martinparent89 If that's animal sacrifice, it's almost definitely something from Hinduism because Roman Catholicism neither condone nor practice any sort of ritualistic sacrifice. But it's a shame that a holy place like Madhu doesn't stop things like this.

@martinparent89 Madhu Church is in Mannar, an overwhelmingly Tamil district. Historically, Hinduism practiced animal sacrifices in the past, and Tamils are culturally rooted in Hinduism despite later conversions to Christianity. That may be one possible reason . I dunno.

@TamilGuardian On our island there is no such thing as "Tamil lands", there is privately owned lands backed up by the documents to prove ownership and then there is state owned lands. The army has the right to use state owned land for something useful like farming. So by all mean quit whining
