This is just my observation, but it seems like most Black people in Black communities see #BlackLivesMatter as a statement driven by a hashtag & don’t even see it connected with any official movement. They just see it as a cry for Black lives to matter as much as white lives do.

If you believe that all lives matter, then you shouldn’t have any issues with people saying Black lives matter. I’m curious if Christians (especially Black Christians) who don’t center whiteness feel the need to distinguish the statement “Black lives matter” from the movement.

I do not say this lightly or hastily but with fear & trembling after much deliberation. I think we are experiencing a divine reckoning in America. I don’t think the reckoning is over our having simply sinned. I think it’s over the fact that we have used God & the Bible to do it.
