@littlebayschool My daughter is coming up on 2 years, frequently snotty and can't blow her nose. How does one teach a kid how to blow their nose? And at what age isnit appropriate? It's something I've been pondering lately.

Something I didn’t know before becoming a mom is what a challenge it would be (and how essential it is) to teach little kids how to blow their noses when they’re sick.

@tomcoppens_ Yes, I do think they lose value because of the recovery needed after a hard session of oly lifts. For 1500m probably worth doing, anything longer I don't think they are necessary. If the goal is overall health, then yes they are worth it.

@_thedescent_ Do you think they lose their value for longer distances? That’s a fair remark. First ones are indeed hang power cleans, last one is a power clean. A clean for my is going into a squat receiving position

If you have any performance based goals A power clean should have a place in your program in my opinion It improves strength, flexibility, power, speed, accuracy, agility, coordination, and balance It's way less technical than a snatch or the squat clean and is perfectly safe for everyone to learn

A look at what the FrontRunner lads have been up to this month. We're really building something cool here. Almost entirely d3 guys (a couple d2) with a combined 0 all-american certificates, running really fast now and chasing big goals

@inaki_delaparra @Garmin The warranty is 2 years, right? 3.5yrs is on the lower end of what most people get out of their garmins but you are prob in the top 0.5% of users given your training vol. So while not ideal for you, they don't owe you anything. My Feñix 6 is 4.5 years now, still going strong.

My Garmin 945 started failing, so I reached out to @Garmin They took forever to reply and eventually offered me a -25% discount on a 965: no cables, I’d have to send my old watch first, and wait 7–14 days. I did my own research and found a 955 for even less than their offer. So I bought that instead in a distributor, I will have it tomorrow morning by 9:00 am Still, a bit disappointed, Garmin used to have great customer service (I was sponsored by them for several years in my elite career), but it feels like they’ve lost touch. I told them I’m an active athlete and can’t really train without my watch, yet the process was slow and unhelpful. Just sharing this as a heads-up. The 955 works fine, but the experience wasn’t what Garmin used to be. Notice all screen lateral sides “damaged”… 👇

@blkkenyb I've got the Feñix 6 and strongly considering the 8. Interested to hear your review after a month. Reviews at launch were hit & miss, mostly around SW bugs. I'd imagine it is stable at this point.

@ishdo79 @fluidathletics Super shoes. Everyone can handle more frequent intense workouts while still recovering. Coaching and sports science has improved across the board. Bicarb also a factor esp in 800m & 1500m / mile. Contrary to what many would have you believe, it's not all about doping.

@_thedescent_ @fluidathletics Sorry that doesn’t explain it. If everyone is now only micro dosing, why is the field depth deeper now. Ps - not arguing that the majority were doping then and now. But assuming that, explain the increase in the depth of fast times.

@ishdo79 @fluidathletics It's because all the WRs in track were set by super talented individuals who were also juiced to the gills. Doping is still happening but it's not as blatant. Micro-dosing etc. And the talent level has to be insane to even be in the ballpark.

@fluidathletics The thing I still want to understand about trackflation regardless is why the depth of fast times has exploded but the peak hasn’t. Nothing below the men’s 5000m has seen a recent WR, despite the explosion in near WR performances and junior records.

70 miles/112.7km for the week 10.20 – 10.26 Training Recap 🏃‍♂️ • Mon: 6 miles / 9.7 km + anterior-focused lift • Tue: 8 miles / 12.9 km • Wed: 20×400m @ threshold + upper-focused lift • Thu: 8 miles / 12.9 km • Fri: 5×1600m @ threshold + 10×200m rhythm work + posterior-focused lift • Sat: 12 miles / 19.3 km • Sun: 16 miles / 25.7km 📈 Highlight: Feeling better at sustaining this volume and frequency. Learning how to manage load and recovery inside the threshold-heavy model, it’s as much about control as it is capacity. 📉 Lowlight: Watching American football aka the Pittsburgh Steelers (my favorite team). Enough said. On a serious note, don’t let external things you can’t control dictate your mood or effort. This week’s @Tigeresilience newsletter breaks down the concept of Providence, foresight in action. How preparation shapes your future, why discipline beats luck, and how stewardship of the body sets the tone for every other part of your life. Link in bio / site to read the full issue.

@michaelgraffeo Not saying these ultra guys are not good. They are v good. But it's a young, niche sport, and marathon running is not.
