The World Health Organization estimates that 1 in every 3 children globally has elevated blood lead levels — a silent crisis robbing potential before life begins. Speaking at the Launch of The 13th International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week of Action at @uonbi, H.E. Dr. Joyce Kithure called for urgent collective action to end lead exposure and safeguard future generations. She commended the University of Nairobi for translating research into real-world change; ‘science must speak to society’s pain,’ she said; and reaffirmed her commitment through the Safe Communities Project, which promotes clean water, renewable energy, waste management, and youth innovation. ‘There is no safe level of lead,’ she reminded all. #NoSafeLeadLevel #LeadFreeKenya #ILPPWA2025
