Got a new Tesla Y - dealership said "you can put any bigger flash drive in it to record more cam footage". I put in a SanDisk ultra 512gb, and that same night tesla runs an update and bricks the flash drive into read-only mode one day in. @Tesla @elonmusk Worse, I Google the issue only to find hundreds of threads across social media of people's flash drives failing after a tesla update, or with even light sentry use, even on high write capacity drives. Ironically Tesla doesn't even sell any flash drives over 128. So feels like I'm stuck with the low size default drive hoping it too won't die soon? SanDisk won't pay for replacing a flash drive that tesla broke. Tesla forums are even more discouraging on a long term solution, lots of bricked flash drives there. Google even says it's a "common issue" (if I am to believe Google). Feels like such an annoying simple problem I'm shocked to be having with my otherwise amazing tesla.
