@JoseDinneny @CurrentBiology Whether Xerobranching (not -tropism) and Hydropatterning are the expression of the same mechanism is an interesting question (work ongoing). For practical reasons, water deficit assays can't be used with Arabidopsis. Is someone aware of ABA loss-of-function maize mutants?
