@SharpSportsLLC @slice_szn She lost her focus and she has herself to blame for it, sure. But she is a very fair play player, so much that you usually can not tell from the handshake when she is the loser.
English

@_Zeleia @slice_szn Explain the shitty handshake then…? Can’t possibly be mad for a medical timeout in set 2 with her opponents body failing her. Not cramp nearly passed out on the court. Set 3 blasting errors in pressure points can’t blame MTO a set prior on that. Poor sportsmanship
English

@SharpSportsLLC @slice_szn Osorio is everything except a sore loser actually.
English

@slice_szn Osorio just a sore loser. Couldn’t take advantage of Kalinskaya operating at 50%. Had every chance to hit winners but unfortunately she knows she’s a pusher and those tactics don’t quite cut it at this level
English

@slice_szn Maybe it has to do with Kalinskaya stopping half dead mid game in the second set to run everywhere 2 games later? (I'm not denying she was in bad condition but Ruud needed a full set to feel better and Sinner never did... And Kalinskaya is usually made of cristal)
English

One of Spain’s biggest newspapers, El Mundo, has just published a very interesting article about Rafa Jodar.
A player who did not look like a future star as a kid, has now become one of the stories of Roland Garros.
Here a summary:
• As a kid, Rafa was small, slow and not considered a top talent, he was not specially good. Other promising Spanish players were going to elite academies in Barcelona or Valencia, but he stayed home and grew up like a normal teenager.
• Before becoming Rafa’s coach, his father had a degree in Sports Science and worked as a physical trainer in athletics and basketball. Both his father and mother were teachers.
• His father is described as very methodical and respectful. Rafa spent countless hours training seriously with him at the club. He would even count the number of balls Rafa hit in each practice session.
• Rafa came from Club Chamartin in Madrid, the same club as Landaluce, Dani Merida and Jessica Bouzas.
• He was very slow. Opponents knew that moving him around was the way to beat him. That probably explains why he now plays so aggressively and tries to shorten points.
• Even in his second junior year in 2023, he missed several tournaments because they clashed with classes or exams, and his parents did not want him to skip school.
• He started to break through at 16, won the US Open juniors in 2024, and in 2025 joined the University of Virginia.
• Quiet, polite, intelligent and not very extroverted. Big Real Madrid fan, and now friends with Bellingham.
• Now this guy is the 3rd favorite to win Roland Garros, only behind Zverev and Djokovic.

I guess Vallejo has never met a man who has a cold.

@kevindyke1 @josemorgado In any case, she would have been on Chatrier every time and women always get the first slot with empty stands. I'm not sure anyone would fight for this... The only advantage is to know exactly when you play (not saying it's not a big + though)

#rolandgarros

I stand with Katie.
5 incidents in 5 days. I left the court with 2 stitches and a bruised knee. Thankfully, it wasn’t worse.
Do we really have to wait until a player is seriously injured before these courtside boards are removed?
Player safety must come first.
