@AbnAlsysta23769 We do not see ourselves as Iraqi. Iraq has brought us nothing but death, destruction and land theft. To this day, there there still mass graves of Kurds (including women and children) being found in Iraqi deserts, killed by Iraqi army.

@AssurCore @AlexKarana More like assyrian nationalists are stupid in every country. No wonder you mfs are on the verge of extinction. Kurds do very well economically when there is opportunity. In Europe/US the proportion of Kurds who own businesses is very high.

Just 200,000 Chaldeans in Michigan are estimated to generate around $16B annually in economic output, about $80,000 per capita. Meanwhile, 6 million Kurds in Iraq produce about $66B total GDP, roughly $11,000 per capita, much of it tied to oil revenues. The West would gain a far more reliable, entrepreneurial, and pro-American partner by supporting a secure Christian state in northern Iraq. Kurdistan GDP data: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_o…

@Qarnap_03 @talibEnder @sedaye_iran reasoning” here? You seem to be operating on the assumption that Kurdish cant be an official language unless Kurdistan becomes independent. Which is illogical, as there are many countries around the world with multiple official languages. Check your own reasoning first.

@Qarnap_03 @talibEnder @sedaye_iran Most honourable Kurds would want an independent Kurdistan, I never said I’m against independence of Kurdistan! But, I said I wouldn’t be happy with an united Iran if Kurdistan has self governance and Kurdish is used as an official language. Where exactly is the “error in+

Some Westerners and our pseudo-intellectuals tried to detach Kurds from our Iranian roots and give us fake identities only to make Kurds a rootless people, but as long as there are Proud Kurds like me we will never let that happen. We the Kurds are proud Iranians.

@Qarnap_03 @talibEnder @sedaye_iran TRT Kurdi is owned by the Turkish state, not Kurds lol That’s why they put subtitles. How good is your Kurmanci? Maybe its not so good if you cant communicate with a Sorani? Which city are you from?

@Qarnap_03 @talibEnder @sedaye_iran Why shouldn’t Kurdish become the official language in Kurdish regions? It’s a basic right which most people ok earth enjoy Actually you sound like you only support a system where Persian is the only official language. You’re putting your own language in the second class catagory

@__Azadi____ @talibEnder @sedaye_iran I’m sharing a model that allows the Kurdish language to survive without it becoming the official language of any country. To address your second paragraph: I don’t categorically support any particular model here. I’m simply responding to the flaws in your reasoning.

@Qarnap_03 @talibEnder @sedaye_iran I dont think I’ve ever see a Kurdish TV channel add Turkish subtitles for Bakuris lol Anyway, I’d rather have Kurmanci (most popular Kurdish dialect) as the official language than Persian.

@__Azadi____ @talibEnder @HemdadArwandi @sedaye_iran Agreed, but linguists are unanimous on this: the two dialects are not mutually intelligible. People from Bakur don’t understand Mesud Barzani’s speeches, which is why our TV channels add Turkish subtitles whenever the leader speaks.

@Qarnap_03 @talibEnder @sedaye_iran Bro my priority is the survival of Kurdish language as it directly impacts the survival of the Kurdish identity and culture. Why are you so keen to keeping Persian as a dominant language in Kurdistan?

@__Azadi____ @talibEnder @HemdadArwandi @sedaye_iran The bilingual system is empirically verified since it worked very well in China until the late 70s, so there’s no point in trying to demonstrate that it wouldn’t work. Just say that you don’t want any of this, and we’ll stop there.

@Qarnap_03 @talibEnder @HemdadArwandi @sedaye_iran I’m a Sorani speaker and I understand Kurmanci well. I’d say 60-70%. It was 25-30% when I was first exposed to Kurmanci but the more you’re exposed to it the more you understand the similarities between the two dialects.

@__Azadi____ @Iran_naameh @talibEnder @HemdadArwandi @sedaye_iran Kurmancî and Soranî are not mutually intelligible. I don’t understand Soranî — I speak Kurmancî — and my mother doesn’t understand it either. Maybe Behdini speakers do, but that’s about it. Another point: the bilingual model in Kurdistan

@Qarnap_03 @Iran_naameh @talibEnder @HemdadArwandi @sedaye_iran Bilingual schooling wouldn’t work. Will the students be taught the same topics in both Kurdish and Persian? How would that work in reality? Not sure if it would. Kurdish children would have to taught in Kurdish, their mother tongue. Persian can be taught as a second language.

@__Azadi____ @Iran_naameh @talibEnder @HemdadArwandi @sedaye_iran No, it’s the hardcore Jacobin-style centralization policies that are straight-up killing the Kurdish language, not the fact it’s not official. Ex: if Iran actually rolled out proper bilingual schooling (Persian/Kurdish), Kurdish would survive just fine.

@Qarnap_03 @Iran_naameh @talibEnder @HemdadArwandi @sedaye_iran Kurdish has to be the main official language in Kurdistan. It’s non negotiable. Persian can be lingua franca and be taught as a second language in Kurdistan. Kurmanji and Sorani both have a strong base (spoken by 90% of Kurds) and are mutually intelligible. Both can survive

@Iran_naameh @__Azadi____ @talibEnder @HemdadArwandi @sedaye_iran Also, we can totally standardize Kurdish no problem, and just make Persian the lingua franca and official language. For the education system — if they wanna keep it bilingual — it’s honestly better if one Kurdish dialect survives.

@Iran_naameh @Qarnap_03 @talibEnder @HemdadArwandi @sedaye_iran Thats incorrect. Kurdish has dialects, not “languages”. I’m from Sulaymani and I speak the same dialect (Sorani) as most of Kurds in East Kurdistan (“Iranian” Kurdistan) Kirmanji is the most popular dialect in Kurdish, and I can comfortably communicate with a Kurmanji speaking

@Iran_naameh @Qarnap_03 @talibEnder @HemdadArwandi @sedaye_iran I have nothing against Persian and I acknowledge that its been used as the official language in Iran for a long time. But today, we Kurds want to use our own language as the main official language in our region, and its our absolute right to do that.
