Just days before October 7, Saudi Arabia was in peace talks with Israel and following in the footsteps of the UAE toward modernization.
Then on October 7 Iran sabotaged the talks by unleashing its Hamas attack dogs.
Suddenly Saudi Arabia abandoned its modernization project, returned to supporting the Muslim Brotherhood across the region, installed HTS in Syria, attacked the UAE, returned to its hostility toward Israel, and resumed its capitalization on the Palestinian cause.
Saudi Arabia's modernization project was never motivated by ideological conviction. It was motivated by fear of a post-jihad, post-oil era.
After October 7, when Islamic jihad was rebranded across the West as resistance, the Saudis realized they could return to the jihad mentality with no problem.

Sod it. For the purposes of full transparency, here are our canvassing returns from Makerfield that we’ve had back so far from the door knocking today.
1,010 sample size.
24.6% for Restore Britain.
31.2% definitely against.
24.2% undecided.
20% considering.
Excluding won’t votes.
More teams coming back, so the sample size will grow a lot in the next few hours.
Largely agrees with what we’ve found over the last week - astounding response with the working class, more difficult with wealthier areas. To be honest.
Labour are the opponent in the fancier places, Reform with the working class.
Our campaign has just taken off. Great name recognition already, but clearly room to grow.
Let’s see what happens.

Phobias are irrational fears, like arachnophobia- the fear of spiders
Or in the case of Islam, fear of dogs and pigs
Calling scepticism (or criticism) a phobia is a misuse of the English language
An infidel's fear of being beheaded is not irrational

Even better, @SecScottBessent should just take away Code Pink’s 501c3 status for engaging in partisan political activity. The rules of 501c3 compliance prohibit private individuals from benefiting from the organization's net earnings, heavily restrict political activities and lobbying, and require annual financial reporting. One could argue that Code Pink is engaged in unregistered lobbying for foreign nations. They are definitely also heavily involved in political activity. We need Scott Bessent to ACT. @RepLuna
