@davidwengier Sorry for all the trouble with us. My current problem is instead that I am battling the next Big Ball of Mud, but in this case unfortunately, the business has not yet realized that it is one.
One of software developments little joys: I just found the commit that introduced a bug... FROM SIX YEARS AGO!!
This broke before I started working at Microsoft!
I love being a detective sometime.
Why can't I sign in to macOS with touch id after a restart? Or iOS with face ID? Either it's secure, or its not, surely.
I can't even remember the password to my windows devices because I never have to type it in, they just see my face.
macOS and iOS feels like the past.
Today I'm going to clean up my desk, which involves packing up my streaming mic and elgato light. It's the end of an era.
Well the end was over a year ago really.
Also I'm going to fix the laundry door handle, because #dadlife
Increase productivity by applying changes to code directly against a running app without having to restart.

@davidkarlas@davidwengier External roller shutters. Programmed with HomeAssistant to go up and down when you want. Low-tech but material intense: curtains that go all around, out of sun blocking fabric, with a headboard with a top frill of the same fabric.
These blinds are supposed to fit so close to the window frame that they don't let light through, but they absolutely do and it wakes me up every morning, but they fit so close to the frame that I don't think I can do anything about it ☹️
Do you ever watch a recording of a talk you gave and find a big mistake in your slides 🤦♀️ I've given the talk twice now and have stared at those slides for so long but only just noticed!
@davidwengier The other day I looked at the old Stream abstract class in .Net and found it way too bloated for what I needed, when all I needed was really just... a stream. Of bytes. Sequentially. Coming whenever they would like. Just that.
I have basically forgotten everything about streaming, but for some reason I'm inspired to fix the track drawing code in Trains, so why not.

@VicGovDH Only works if your Medicare account is linked to your myGov account. And there a various reasons why that might not work, e.g. name mismatch for married women who got married overseas, or other problems. Thousands of people have problems with this.
You can now add your COVID-19 digital vaccine certificate to the Service Victoria app, so you can quickly and easily show proof of vaccination when it’s needed at venues and events in the future.
@fruittingle21@VicGovDH My Medicare account won't link to my myGov account, and consequently the certificate doesn't show up in the app. No, it doesn't work.
@VicGovDH Why am I seeing so many complaints. It is such an easy process. You need to have a myGov account to start with, then you just download Medicare Express App and then click to link the vax cert to Service Victoria… I’m not even tech savvy! 🤯
@dotnet@csharpfritz Yes, thanks guys for implementing the thing, was a godsend years ago when it started and still saves the day... Unless you have performance problems....
Working with collections of data can be a lot easier with LINQ.
Happening now...In this beginner-friendly session of learning C# with @CSharpFritz, Jeff teaches us how to work with arrays, dictionaries, and lists of data using the C# LINQ syntax.
