I don’t believe we speak up to 500 languages in Nigeria. Different dialects ?, yes. But over 500 languages is total cap. All the South western states speak Yoruba, diffferent variations ,yh but I doubt there’s no where a Yoruba person will go in southwest and not be able to communicate asides some parts of ondo that speak ijaw or the egun speaking communities in ogun state and Lagos & I’m sure this probably applies to people from the south east too. My former security guy in abk is from borno (north east), he said they speak a language called “shuwa Arabic” but he communicates well with another bikeman from sokoto. (North west) so where did the over 500 languages come from.

Nigeria is the third most ethno-linguistically diverse country in the world, with over 500 languages. The majority tribes often think the country starts and ends with them. It's often only minorities that recognise the existence of other minorities.

@omoAlufa01 @The_AdarA @Emmy_Ojonilemi @Alonzo0002 @sxdiqcarter_ I'm from Ikare.. when someone from Arigidi is talking, I don't understand a single word 😂. I can list 10 towns with different languages that aren't even Yoruba related at all. People that haven't gone out of their zones believe we all speak the same language 😂

If you are a young man trying to build your life, please stay single or date a self sufficient woman who’s not selfish. This is not because you are trying to avoid responsibility or because you are being stingy, is because growth requires a breathing space. There’s no way you can be able to build your life when you have stacks of financial responsibilities to take care of.

The joy I have in my heart anytime any of my husband’s siblings are coming to the house is just unexplainable. We are so close that we talk almost every week on phone yet they may not have spoken to their brother in months. Na me Dey give my hubby update of what’s happening in their lives 🤣. The day my BIL who lived with us for 2 years left to the US i cried. My sister inlaw lives with me. When she went for her NYSC camp, it was as if a part of me was missing. If your husband’s siblings have to work on egg shells because of you then you’re a very bad wife and you’ll get what’s coming for you.

The only person I am informing of my visit is my brother. It is now his job to let his wife know that I will be coming. This is also why people say women bring division to families because why do siblings now have to start walking on eggshells because their brother is married?.
Foundational Nupe Lawyer@egi_nupe

If you want to visit your married brother, inform his wife first or seek her permission. She might not want to receive any visitor. If you want to enter kitchen in your brother’s home, inform the wife or seek her permission to dish food yourself. It’s her kitchen What type of families are you people from?

When religious people tell you to "get close to God," they are not actually saying you should "get close to God." They are actually saying you should practise their own religion the way they do. "God" belongs to them, and until you do it like they do, you are not close to God.

“Christianity and Islam are not foreign religions.” There is absolutely nothing wrong with something being foreign (it takes nothing away from its teachings or whatever), so why are you trying to paint an obviously foreign concept as indigenous? Okay, they are not foreign - now tell me how either of them originated in Yoruba land and why nothing was said about Yoruba land in their holy books.

You cannot even marry your fellow Yoruba because you are a Christian and the person is a Muslim. Religion is such a beautiful and uniting concept.
