I wonder if the #Mets would be willing to trade Bo Bichette… I was saying it all offseason & I’ll continue to say it… there is no better fit for the #RedSox than Bo… Crushes Fenway park, plays all over the INF well, fits perfect w/ the young core, hits with RISP/clutch etc.

Here is what I will say. The last time the Boston Red Sox traded their #1 prospect, it was Yoan Moncada for Chris Sale. I don't know what Franklin Arias is going to be, but I don't think there is a Chris Sale (with multiple years of control) available right now.

AKA Breslow is gonna make some weird trades that no one saw coming & 90% of #RedSox fans will talk themselves into being on board…then it will come back & kick us in the balls. Just get a friggen catcher to pair with Wong…(Ryan Jeffers) & a .300 hitter like Luis Arráez & hang onto Franklin Arias, Anthony Eyanson, & Kyson Witherspoon… (preferably Holobetz too). Justin Gonzalez, Franklin Primera & and all other prospects can go… That would be a GREAT trade deadline… #DirtyWater

This is hilarious now…gotta wonder what Craig Breslow was thinking… #RedSox had 4 outfielders at the time too… Only reason I can think of is because Dylan Cease was about to be a Free Agent…but that shouldn’t have mattered last season when the Red Sox had no real #2 starter…especially when the Padres sweetened the pot with a legit catching prospect (another position the Red Sox are weak in). This fumble should be a lesson to anyone worried about trading for a player that’s about to be a Free Agent ie. Luis Arráez, Ryan Jeffers, & Jeremy Peña… All three would significantly improve the Red Sox lineup right now…and would very much so help them make a playoff run. (I understand Peña is not available, but still using him in the example). I REALLY hope Breslow isn’t just looking for players he can trade for that are also controllable long-term—but after trading his best trade chip in Connelly Early for Curtis Mead (controllable)—that’s what it looks like. #RedSoxNation #DirtyWater

@tylermilliken_ @Sean_McAdam To those who understand why the Sox would reject this: Cease is a 2 month rental (he becomes a free agent after this season). He also has a 4.61 ERA.

The Padres made an offer to the Red Sox for Jarren Duran involving Dylan Cease, per @Sean_McAdam. The package also included catching prospect Ethan Salas and another prospect (not shortstop Leo de Vries). The Red Sox quickly rejected it.

If the Red Sox make this trade: -Dylan Cease starts Game 2 of the Wild Card -Jarren Duran never drops the ball -Likely sweep the Yankees -The Sox have a top 10 prospect in baseball at a position of need Generational fumble, especially with how Duran is playing

That’s an awful trade for the #RedSox …. 1. Hunter Greene is 1 injury away from being forgotten 2. Jake Bennett is having a MUCH better year 3. Witherspoon & Eyanson were the Sox Top 2 draft picks in 2025 … are both 21…and both have incredible upside 4. IF Eyanson or Witherspoon are traded… it’s going to be for OFFENSE! Sox have enough pitching already… This really has to be the dumbest trade proposal I’ve seen yet… & I’ve seen some dumb ones!

Would be stupid of teams to *not* do their due diligence and ask for Franklin Arias in a trade. But he better be off the table unless the return is groundbreaking. He is untouchable, period.

As it pertains to trading your top prospect. If you can get a SS with 4 playoff runs of control whose caliber you’d be happy to see Arias turn into for 4-6 years of his rookie deal, that’s a move you gulp and make if you have to. All big trades come with risk, that’s part of it.

It’s exciting and reminiscent of how things used to be that the Red Sox are linked to some of the top names on the market, but I won’t get my hopes up. Breslow has done a good job acquiring talent in the offseason. He’s yet to conquer a deadline. Much to prove in the next 4 days.
