Almost every big story The Post has covered -- from Watergate to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol -- depended on the journalists of @postlocal. They are the beating heart and soul of this newsroom and we cannot be successful without them.

Recent news about The Washington Post is alarming, to say the least. When we cover major news abroad, our national security team works hand in hand with our colleagues overseas. When we cover unrest in Washington, we rely on our Metro colleagues for insight and street smarts. And that's to say nothing of our fabulous Sports colleagues, who cover with grace one of the only worlds that a polarized America often meets with shields and swords down.
