@NAllison89 Exactly! “Boomers” refers to those born during a post-war baby boom that lasted about 20 years but we’re not all culturally the same. I’m technically a boomer, but my parents were small children when WW2 ended and I was a child during Vietnam and Woodstock.

When it comes to the dislike of boomers people have got to realize what a big group this is between 1946 and 1964. The former can remember Kennedy dying and be drafted to go to Vietnam, the younger were born after he died. Stop generalizing people.

@abbythelibb_ What is an appropriate “greeting” for Memorial Day? I was just wondering about that when I saw your post.

Miss you, Josh. Today was always hard for you with everyone you lost, whose names you had written on your back, and now you're not here to lightly scold anyone who says "Happy Memorial Day."

@musings_blonde Ate there the first time a few weeks ago. It was ok, but for just my husband and myself, we spent $40. Pricey!

@ginamilan_ I used to like Megyn. Then I didn’t like her. Then I liked her again. Now I dislike her again. Done with Megyn.

Megyn Kelly goes on the Hodgetwins podcast and viciously attacks Trump. She says he cheated on every wife he’s ever had, including Melania, and then goes on about Trump raping Ivana: “Ivana, his first wife, accused him of raping her. She alleged in her first book that he was so angry over the hair transplant he got, that she made him get. It was so painful, that he raped her.” She is truly one of the most disgusting pieces of shit I’ve ever seen. This is the definition of evil, folks. Just wow.

The Mandolorian and Grogu movie has opened to the lowest box office of any Star Wars movie ever. This is despite a seven year gap between the last Star Wars movie. Disney has done the truly incredible — destroyed the Star Wars franchise.

@C_3C_3 Congress exempts themselves from lots of stuff; vaccines, paying for harassment claims, got lots of freebie perks the plebs could only salivate at…

Want to hear something crazy? You need a FBI background check to be a janitor cleaning the Capitol Building but not a member of Congress working in the Capitol Building. Totally insane. Sounds like I made it up, right?! I didn’t.

Rabbi Brian Samuel
Rabbi Brian Samuel@rabbriansamuel·
My mom passed away today. 💔 I'm going to say something that will spark rebuke. I know what the Bible says about salvation. I stand by that and I will not waver from it. But I also know that God is merciful. And He is loving. And He is good. And my soul rests in that. I am not saying there is more than one way to eternal life. I'm saying that God is fierce and He is a fighter, and He will tear apart everything to reach one of His lost daughters. I'm not diverging from sound biblical doctrine. I know what it takes to be saved. But God will tear apart our pretty little doctrines to rescue a single soul. 2 Samuel 14:14: Yet God does not take away life but rather, He devises plans so that a banished person may not remain an outcast from Him. Oh, and when the time comes for me to enter into my eternal heavenly home, and she's not there? Guess what? I will go back and get her. Because my Lord Yeshua says that the gates of hell will not prevail. And gates swing both ways. So I will break down the gates of hell and get her out if I have to. Because I'm not entering into glory without my mother. So go ahead and share this and say that poor Rabbi Brian is preaching dangerous wishful thinking rather than biblical doctrine on heaven and hell. My hope is in a God who is merciful beyond our comprehension. And beyond our doctrine. See you in paradise, mom. I love you.

@wake_up_girl_3 Most of my kids are very affectionate, but one is not. I can count on one hand the times he showed overt affection to me. But I also remember every single one of them vividly. 🥹

Tonight my 15-year-old the one who isn’t naturally affectionate like my other two boys, walked into my room and hugged me simply because. I cannot even explain what that moment meant to me. For him, hugs are rare. Vulnerability is rare. Even feeling like he needs comfort or connection happens so little. But tonight, for just a moment, he let his guard down. And as a mother, those are the moments you hold onto with your whole heart. Sometimes love isn’t loud. Sometimes it’s a quiet hug in the doorway that says more than words ever could.

Carol Beth Anderson (goes by Beth)
Fifteen months ago today, my husband died. Every 23rd of every month for the last 14 months, I was so aware of my loss. I made a point to make space for grief on those days. So it was weird that today, I didn’t realize what day it was was until after 2 p.m.

Unpopular opinion: Starbucks coffee is bitter and gross, no matter how many pumps of sweetener you put in.

I know a lot of homeschoolers that imagine their children learning Latin and Greek and reading the classics of western literature. That’s a fine goal, I suppose. But your children may not be interested in those things and forcing them will have a negative effect (or introducing them too early). Follow the interests of the child and use those interests to guide them to their next steps. My daughter wore this book out and I was able to use her interests to point to other works so she would not get bored with just one genre she enjoyed.

@AvaGrace9211 I was not allowed to wear them. But I remember them well! My first job in 79 was at Cloth World where we cut yards & yards of terry cloth, and we had to reorder this pattern over and over and over! They were extremely popular! 😁

Ladies, if this was your skincare routine in the 80s, how are you doing now? The Sea Breeze astringent could take the paint off the side of a boat, and that Apricot scrub took off layers of my skin that I'll never get back. And the Noxema? Like putting Vicks Vapo Rub on your face.
