25+ years in software engineering, systems programming, and full‑stack web dev. Building emulators, hardware projects, and SaaS tools while running an independent dev shop. Here to share code, architecture deep dives, and the messy reality of shipping real‑world systems.

@Im_IrushiK I think it is called "avant garde" metal. It is a beautiful piece.

@mbritton am I thinking about this right? Lamarck was the one that discussed changes in DNA during your life that can affect the next generation... so, where Darwin talked about mutation that may or may not work out, Lamarck talked about ACTUAL adaptation and speciation.

@mbritton genetic memory is questionable...though I suppose there is some evidence for it? You have to revert to Lamack over Darwin to even discuss it though...

intelligence is not emergent from language and prediction. language and prediction are emergent from intelligence. if you understand this, you understand the scam that is being perpetuated on humanity right now.

I never said anything about language or side effects. The ONLY THING a language model can do is predict the next token. Also, NO! Predicting the next token will NEVER lead to intelligence. Think about evolution. We didn't become intelligent because we learned to communicate! We learned to communicate because we were intelligent. Also, LLMs cannot communicate. They are prediction engines. They are not, nor they have any source of truth.

@_andrewthecoder Language and prediction can be ingredients, not just side effects. You get increasingly complex predictions that lead to intelligence

you are not even asking the right question. the whole point of business is to spend as little as possible. companies are sacrificing PEOPLE to invest in AI. you need to be asking what business will actually spend money on. the answer is "VERY LITTLE". Then you have to ask HOW MANY BUSINESSES will spend this little amount on my product. How many 100s of businesses will I need to seel to?

Where should I spend the next 5 years to build $10k every month... then never work again for the rest of my life?

but here is the thing... without US, AI is nothing. It can't innovate, it can't create... it can only predict words that we have used before. and that is my point! Intelligence arose BEFORE our ability to talk about it. The "companies" are trying to sell you on the idea that once the models predict the words in a certain way, they will be as intelligent as us. Don't you see the issue here?

@_andrewthecoder @Im_IrushiK Ok let me dial back on my attempt at humor. We are creating something in our image. It is as smart as some of us but not as smart as all of us. I think we overestimate the level of our intelligence because we only have ourselves to measure by.

@technohobo23 @Im_IrushiK but is that is the case, neither can artificial intelligence. how can something that doesn't exist in the first place be synthesised?

@MsNobody42 I like figuring out the poes... there are "flat earthers" that literally exist to make flat earth religion look stoopid. And they are REALLY good at it.

in all my investigation, that is what I can't tell for sure. I don't know if algorithm takes payment into account. I have one post that got 2M impressions. I was NOT paying at the time. I have one other that got 200k, I WAS paying. EVERYTHING ELSE (paying or not) has an average of less than 500 impressions. I have no idea how to measure payment in this metric.

@Im_IrushiK honestly. let's talk about this. did human intelligence arise from learning how to predict words? OR did language arise from human intelligence?

@Im_IrushiK none. AGI will not come from from token prediction engines. period.
