now is the time to bring every struggle into the streets. if you’re protesting, bring placards for the issues that rarely get cameras or headlines too: manipur, bastar and the militarisation of adivasi lands, corporate land grabs and forest rights, ken–betwa displacement, data centres consuming land, water and power, dalit displacement, farmers and workers, political prisoners, state surveillance, india’s deepening ties with israel, anti-muslim and anti-dalit lynchings, kashmir and attacks on dissent. these struggles do not exist in isolation.
bring their names. bring their placards. make the invisible struggles visible. because class consciousness must also be intersectional. our struggles cut across class, caste, religion, gender, region and community, and different people experience the might of the state and the bourgeoisie differently.

Why do “apolitical protests” like these happen ? Neoliberalism, which shaped middle class morality, took the political out of education. Instead of an having an intrinsic value, education became instrumental to serve global capitalism. This made “politics” a bad word for the MC.
