I've been so enamored with Morning Musume that I felt like I needed to make some fan art. I drew Okamura Homare and Sakurai Rio. I wanted to get the expressions and shading just right. I even consulted some tutorials. I hope I captured Homatan and Riley well!

i transferred my Spotify to my Apple account & i pretty much abandoned it in 2018 so it’s basically a historical record of my music taste as a teen😭

imagine being the flagship group of your company but you get treated as a glorified nostalgia act even though the majority of the group wasn't even alive when the hits came out. you release some pretty solid songs, but none of them really get promoted on a major scale because the tv shows that you do get invited to want you to prioritize love machine and rr21 instead. your main music producer just throws shit to a wall and hopes it sticks because he doesn't have the connection he had with prior lineups to make meaningful music for you. then imagine your leader of 10+ years graduates and seven members follow suit immediately afterwards. on top of that, imagine your sister group goes crazy viral and (deservedly) gets a shit ton of huge opportunities that you could only dream of. meanwhile, aside from the two who are literally graduating this year, none of the other members really hold weight with the media and gp. besides all of that, you can't even tour with your final lineup because your leader has an injury that requires her to take a performance/travel hiatus. idgaf what y'all think about the current lineup, the fact that most of them have lasted 6+ years under these circumstances and continue to have the drive that they have will always impress me.

tsunku had and still has his flaws but you can see the clear difference between a musician managing an idol group versus a business 😭 i miss the MUSIC!!!!! if ufp could get away with it they’d never release an album again and stick with 1 single every other year.

@gaki_kudo seriously!! i know they’re content to maintain their current loyal fanbase but how long will that bubble remain before it ultimately pops? the most loyal of fans have limits, too. not to mention the members themselves!! it’s just so disrespectful to their time and talent.

idk now that mcdonalds ad is pissing me off by being a The Peace parody because it’s like ufp doesn’t know how to make current mm into something that isn’t just reliving their glory years with a lineup that wasn’t even alive when it happened

@_ayuming_ I was recapping the situation to friends and said their mngmt doesn't know how to market them despite the lineup being so talented, but UF doesn't care abt growing popularity anyway. They're fine staying in their little fandom bubble on autopilot. I hate it here for the girls.
