@hhafsa_lovesyou The point is nature doesn’t work in niches. You have to understand the whole picture if you are to solve the harder problems plaguing modern medicine or any field of science for that matter

@hhafsa_lovesyou The human body is a complex, highly interconnected, dynamic system. Normal functioning of ANY given tissue is controlled by homeostatic mechanisms involving multiple players. And in varying contexts (eg body acts differently when ur starving compared to when ur not)

It just seems so odd especially for medical research when majority of it isn’t even in the human body like there is SOOO much we don’t know and everyone just picks the most specific niche subject and study that their whole life it’s so strange

@hhafsa_lovesyou The scientific method is fine except for a few drawbacks forced by capitalism. What really needs to change is our approach to peer review/publication and funding. We need to incentivise quality over quantity and things will start to get better for medical research.

@hhafsa_lovesyou You’re correct. It is flawed most of the time actually. Majority of published research is false. P-hacking and publish/perish culture has ruined medical research and slowed down any real progress. Mostly bc of scientists forcing flawed inferences.

The scientific process seems so flawed sometimes, we just can’t be making inferences the way we do based off the tiny bit of data we get like there is so much more to the way this world works to be making these assumptions
