There’s this weird thing in the FF community where people feel the need to overly defend 13 & 15. You can like them. Hell they can be your fave. But to act they have no issues is ridiculous. 7 is my favorite but I’d never try to convince people it’s flawless. Cause it isn’t.

Please shut the fuck up man, you literally do exactly what you claim but for FF7R trilogy slop then act like you aren't allowed to criticise them because you're in denial over other FF games like XV mogging them, even me saying this will have you immediately fall into denial and try and deflect to some irrelevant shit. When people praise games like XV or XIII they are fully aware of any flaws, when you 7R shills gas up 7R you pretend like it's the best thing ever made that is impossible to have any negative opinions towards, oh and the worst one "eeerrm part 3 isn't out yet so you cant have an opinion on FF7 Remake or FF7 Rebirth yet?!?!"

The gameplay system in Forspoken was universally praised and he was not a writer on anything "Senior Narrative Designer" for the DLC means he was in charge of the gameplay encounters/bosses/new combat in that DLC which was also praised Also Hamaguchi was heading up Mobius shit before FF7R so I don't see what Nakazawa working on Forspoken has to do with anything, he made the combat system for that when it was still an Agni game and had nothing to do with the story/characters/writing in Forspoken, also a lot of KH2 and Versus XIII devs worked on Forspoken too, FF7R combat staff also worked on Forspoken.

With FFVII Revelation in Spring 2027 I think they're targeting that to release within FY2027, so a March 2027 date at latest for that, if delayed beyond March it'll be in the same FY as KH4. DQXII comparatively is actually the least furthest along of their major titles due to the from scratch restart, I don't see that until after KH4 and in FY2029 at earliest. I think FFXVII will be announced in 2027 after FFVII Revelation is out and will be targeting a FY2030 release. It's important to consider that every single mainline FF game has always started development/planning before the most recent mainline FF before that was released. FFXVI under Takai/Yoshi-P started in 2015 before FFXV released in 2016. FFXV under Tabata started in 2013 before FFXIV ARR under Yoshi-P released in 2013. (plus FF Versus XIII under Nomura planning began in 2003 before FFXII released in 2006, before FFXIII released in 2009 and before FFXIV 1.0 released in 2010) FFXIV under Tanaka/Komoto started in 2005 before FFXII released in 2006 and before FFXIII released in 2009 FFXIII under Toriyama/Kitase started in 2004 before FFXII released in 2006. FFXII under Matsuno/Ito started in 2000 before FFXI in 2002 and FFX released in 2001. FFXI under Ishii/Tanaka started in 1999 before FFIX released in 2000 and FFX released in 2001. FFX under Kitase/Toriyama started in 1998 before FFVIII released in 1999 and FFIX released in 2000. FFIX under Sakaguchi/Ito began in 1998 before FFVIII released in 1998. Etc. Going off of that long established precedent and how things are currently done, I strongly believe FFXVII started development sometime in early 2023 and that its development team is predominantly the remaining FFXV staff who are now currently in CS1/CS2 combined with other CS1/CS2 staff alongside Luminous Productions staff that were assigned to the Engine Development Division in 2024, and my hope is it's being led by Takatsugu Nakazawa who is finally getting his swing at a mainline FF proper. For those who don't know Takatsugu Nakazawa was a battle planner on FFVII, FFVIII and FFX, then was Battle Director on FF10-2 and RPG system director on FFXV, then was FFXV Royal Edition director taking over for Tabata on basically all post launch FFXV development content for the main game. After FFXV released Nakazawa did a presentation at PAX where one of the topics he had was on what he'd want to do if he were in charge of "the next FF", so he is quite literally also already established as someone within SE who has publicly talked about potential plans for a future mainline Final Fantasy, has strong lineage ties to FF history and the 4 most successful FF games while also having dipped his toes in a director position a bit through directing FFXV Royal Edition.

SE's restructure results are finally starting to roll out, I think KH4 will be a FY2028 title (April 2027 - March 2028) and they'll be using major events til then to announce different worlds for the game.
