@FamilyFuedBob@BoomerDivvies Ahhhh solid catch 😂 ... let's go for a mild recovery; 19 years of payments ain't worth shit. Still take the lump and invest!
An 20-year-old Canadian girl won $1M (tax free in Canada) in the lottery and chose $1,000/week instead of the lump sum.
Is this wise or the worst financial decision of her life?
What are you doing when this happens to you??
Explain to me why our electric bills never decrease, even though we have swapped to all LED lights, energy star appliances, built massive solar and wind farms.
@shenetworks Take what you've learned from red teaming and apply it to identifying your knowledge gaps. You already know what the most commonly targeted points on a network are. Identify what those parts are often written in and dig in.
I want to upskill in between jobs and I’d like to focus on coding. What do you think is the best to learn for cyber security? I have experience with python and go. But I could also improve
@fjzeit ...should be more worried about even more deeply normalising this already very well established reality that they can do this without consequence.
@fjzeit Anti-theft concept; staff having permission to fuck someone up if they're clearly on the rob. These women did more than almost all staff and security suffering from retail theft in the UK because of spineless management decisions. Everyone's worried about litigation when they....
@Autistic_Lauren Yeah. I can't stand them. Wouldn't wish them on my worst enemies. Even the recovery is a struggle. Had one a couple months ago which lasted a whole weekend, and the recovery took almost all of the following week.
Applying for jobs as a neurodivergent person is so wild because what do you mean I’m supposed to apply for jobs where I don’t fit every single criterion they listed for a reason?!
@zuess05 That's really, really debatable that it's entirely and completely production ready in a weekend. I bet it'd be riddled with basic security vulnerabilities at the least.
Serious question.
For 20 years, a "Software Engineer" was someone who spent thousands of hours mastering complex syntax, logic, and architecture.
Now, a 19-year-old can vibe-code a production-ready SaaS in a weekend using plain English and a $20 Claude subscription.
What does the title "Software Engineer" even mean right now?
@petersteele@reddit_lies I shouldn't laugh, but her response is funny af 😂 take her hunting if you don't already mate. Not to stoke any notions of violence or anything like that. But that's a well screwed on, realistic outlook and mentality to already have at a young age; great job!
@reddit_lies My 11 year old daughter has told us that many of her friends are this as well. That they meow and bark and all sorts of shit. She said they were mental and stopped hanging out with them. She came to that conclusion all her own.
You know times are hard when £30 for a car wash starts feeling like a financial decision instead of basic maintenance😕
How much is everyone paying these days? 👀
@loftwah Long before that for me; cod bo2. When they started monetising the balls out of the dlc - that was the last cod I played until the 1st mw redo.
Plants VS Zombies 2 was when I really noticed it and felt betrayed. The games stopped being fun and felt like they were designed to gouge money from you instead of trying to give the best experience. Microtransactions and pay to win.
