Hot take: The current education system is broken. Still preparing students to be “factory workers.” AI is changing everything, yet schools push outdated models and memorization. Teach life skills, creativity, and adaptability. The whole system needs to be rebuilt. Comments?

I feel like every strength coach goes through this at some point…

Your kid doesn’t need another travel team. They need a weight room. Parents spend thousands chasing exposure… but avoid strength training. Truth is: The fastest, strongest athlete usually wins the recruiting battle. Development > Exposure

Hard truth: Many strength coaches don’t know how to make athletes faster. If “speed work” = ladders, gassers, and running kids into the ground, you’re building fatigue, not speed. No mechanics. No max velocity. Then we’re shocked when hamstrings go. Speed is a skill. Teach it.

If sport clubs are charging families thousands of dollars a year, but treating strength as an optional add-on… that’s a choice. Strength training is a foundational part of athlete development. You can keep blaming genetics, or you can prepare kids for the demand of their sports

We let kids play collision sports every weekend, full speed, full contact, zero hesitation. But the moment they touch a barbell, it’s suddenly “too dangerous.” Wild. Strength isn’t the problem. Fear, misinformation, and comfort culture are. Make it make sense.

HOT TAKE: Most strength coaches are completely unqualified to teach speed. Running ladders, random cone drills, and chasing fatigue isn’t speed, it’s laziness. Speed is a skill. If you can’t teach athletes how to sprint and force under load, that’s a coaching failure!

If your vertical jump hasn’t improved... It’s because you’re weak. Not unathletic. Just underdeveloped. You don’t jump higher by collecting fancy exercises like Pokémon cards. You jump higher by producing more force. Strength first. Then speed. Everything else is just noise.

Do not discount your future for temporary health and comfort. Get comfortable being uncomfortable when it comes to your health, lifestyle, and fitness. There is no short cut to your goals.

The gap between where you are and where you want to be isn’t talent, it’s the size of your vision. Stop aiming for comfort and start demanding greatness.

D1 head coaches swim in $10M+ while S&C directors limp by on $68K-$98K. Passion pays rent, right? Meanwhile, NIL kids buy Porsches. Who else is tired of this clown show?

If what I say or post offends you, that’s a you problem. Imagine letting pixels on a screen ruin your day. I don’t post for approval, I post because I have a spine. Being offended doesn’t make you right, it just means something hit closer to home. Scroll faster, heal harder.
