Fell across this interesting idea from our friends @EdacEurope whilst "doing the tour" at Electronica. Allows you to plug/unplug boards like @Raspberry_Pi Pico without soldering. Cannot show you the PCB underneath - apparently super secret sauce from @_codebug
What do we think🤔
@andypiper@cheerlights Sorry about this, I'll check why it's failing and get someone to post an update. We've not published our source yet; that's not to say we won't, just we're being a bit more cautious after a previous negative experience.
If anyone fancies the IoT version of 'hello world there's a very early, rough demo of @cheerlights#cheer-lights" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">cbc.docs.codebug.org.uk/gettingstarted…
I pick green!
@MHumphriss Hi, we've seen your message, but need to verify the account before deleting it -- this is in process, so assuming noone replies from the account it will be deleted.
@IRoulson We did limit the brightness, and then some people complained they wanted more! You might be able to convert the colour into HSB and then limit the brightness/saturation cbc.docs.codebug.org.uk/reference/code…
Ouch... my eyes! Experimenting with the @_codebug and getting it to display a "heart" using the #cheerlights colour. Someone just set it to #FFFFFF and the Codebug Connect lit up the room. Thankfully it wasn't for long. I'll have to look at implementing a brightness control.
@cymplecy hmm, that's old code -- docs are hosted on github and it seems to get stuck in the cache. Can you try doing a ctrl-r to force the reload, code should be as shown below
Fix is now in latest firmware update -- instructions here as to how to get it. cbc.docs.codebug.org.uk/gettingstarted…
Set your WiFi up with #setting-up-wifi-over-usb-filestore" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">cbc.docs.codebug.org.uk/gettingstarted… if you can't select with browser
So quick heads up, we've discovered setting up WiFi in Chrome on CodeBug Connect can be buggy. Firefox and Safari work -- we'll provide a firmware update next week.
@biglesp@IRoulson@ukscone I've had modemmanager break stuff before, someone else posted logs and this weekend and in that case uninstalling fixed it -- stopping is less drastic!
@cymplecy@heeedt I need a hardware key which isn't on this machine to get into the website. If you want to register as a new user I can merge the accounts later.
@tanurai With the old version you didn't have to, the problem we had was people would do a project and then want to save it. Sometimes they'd try and register, get their email wrong and the project would be in limbo. Open to suggestions to avoid the registration while allowing saving
