@jasonc_nc @SlopHq I assume this works better in larger metro areas. I work with smaller cities, some are part of larger metro areas. So there isn’t quite as much potential, but there is still something here smaller cities can do as well

Jason,
Jason,@jasonc_nc·
@_consistentgolf @SlopHq And of course the surrounding buildings now have restaurants/food options. So the city gets ancillary revenue in property taxes, sales tax revenue from creating a park that drives traffic, vs measuring acreage.

clara the urbanist
cities spend millions on “activation” consultants to figure out how to make people linger in public space and ikea solved it with lingonberry sauce and a $2.50 breakfast. the answer was cheap food and a place to sit. it was always cheap food and a place to sit

@jasonc_nc @SlopHq Biggest pain point I can hear already is “who is going to work it” But like you said, if you can solve that, things get easier. In MN, it can just be a seasonal thing too, like city pools. Open for 3-5 months per year. Get some free WiFi and capitalize on the WFH people

Jason,
Jason,@jasonc_nc·
@_consistentgolf @SlopHq It can also act as desperately needed recurring funds for the parks department. Makes them happy (if they can get over the work it creates) with a bucket of money not dependent on annual budgets. Makes council happy because it funds programs without budget increases.

@jasonc_nc @SlopHq TBH, I have never really thought about this. I will be bringing this idea with me into the future as I work with different cities. If we can get power and water to a place, or allow portable food vendors in, it could change how some parks are utilized for sure

@ryanmouquegolf “Early” “quick” semantics I am willing to give some grace that people are using terms interchangeably and they don’t mean “quick” in the same way you do. Is it correct to say “quick” probably not, but I know what I mean when I say it about my own swing 😂

@_consistentgolf So you didn’t get quick…… you rotated too early rather than shifting laterally… 😂

Watching Scottie with his last warmup was interesting. A few short game shots. Some aimed at holes and some where it looked he was trying to hit a spot regardless of hole. 1 ball on the putting green with lag putts and 6 footers. We can all probably learn something there

IMO… One of the most annoying sayings golfers say after a poor shot is… “Ah, I was too quick, I rushed my swing” Right… & tell me how you can quantify that please. How do you KNOW that’s what caused your poor shot there? Here’s the new kid Jackson Koivun going for a par 5 in 2 from 305y away Now if my eyes are seeing what you are seeing… he looks pretty damn QUICK in transition does he not? So if he was to hit a poor shot here, was it because he was “quick”? Did he “rush” his swing? So if being quick doesn’t cause him to hit a poor shot here… how are you sure that’s what has caused your poor shot? I want you to think more critically when assessing what went wrong after a poor shot. “I got quick” is not possible to quantify IMO What about the arc height? Club path? Club face? Strike location? Those can all be quantified Understand what actually causes your poor shots, don’t resort to “I got quick” or “I rushed it”… those are bogus terms IMO Happy Sunday 🙂👊🏼

@Rygolf1975 @Geomodman The plan is simple: > Take clients to golf course > Let your golf game amaze them > Make pitch at lunch afterwards > Close the deal

@Jmarmstrong88 @SouthernROI I don’t know, but a quick look at your profile makes it seem like you got a good job and great family. Whatever it was early in life, good on you for pulling through that

@SouthernROI @_consistentgolf I wish. I had all of the aspirations to go pro after winning a few tournaments in college, and making it to the round of 16 in the GA Am. Unfortunately for me I was unable to escape the family curse of substance abuse and washed out.

@_consistentgolf I graduated HS as a 2HCP.. played D2 golf on a full ride in GA. There are levels to this lol. If you love the game as a kid, join some junior leagues, play for your school and see where it takes you. You don’t have to win the Junior Am to get a scholarship.
