I don’t see how this is useful. WSOP already knows who their good dealers are. Floors and DCs track this all summer. Why not just pay your dealers commensurately for skill, years worked, or the responsibility they’re entrusted with? Bonuses are nice. Raises, likely more effective
WSOP - World Series of Poker@WSOP

Our Dealer Rating System is coming to Vegas! Using the new Dealer Rating System on WSOP Live… • Players can rate the dealer at their table • Ratings are shared internally with tournament staff • Dealers with the highest ratings will earn rewards throughout the series @jeffplatt and the rest of Team WSOP are excited to recognize and reward great dealers at the WSOP. Shuffle up and deal!

@RealKidPoker To believe there is no species of life more advanced than the human race is arrogant, egotistical and just flat out ignorant!

In Taiwan, they’re dealing time limit tournaments with two decks at a time and using 30 second shot clocks. Really speeds the game up and makes live poker much more enjoyable. Should we bring this system out west?

@VegasHayls The TABC had enough to get a warrant to investigate and make their case stronger. No charges filed doesn’t mean there won’t be charges filed. I’ve been involved in something like this before and charges didn’t come till 1.5 years after shut down.

@dfsbrat Obviously I can’t speak to what is in your mind, but you may someday find it helpful to consider him more of a concerned parent or friend than an enemy. My inner critic is a protective part who learned to manage like my mother. She means well, and showing her compassion helps

I never knew this about you. Thanks so much for sharing this. Emotional intelligence is a rare thing that most have never even heard of before. One of the best sayings I try to live by is a quote from sun tzu. roughly translated is “know your enemy and know yourself and you will always be a victorious.” The enemy in my case is the person within myself and I’m finally started getting to know him. is taking half my life to realize it but thank you for sharing. This means a lot.

I was raised by two poker players. In my teens, I was essentially taught that my emotions were inconvenient and unimportant. Obviously, suppressing my emotions became a useful skill when I started playing poker in my 20s, but by my 30s I had developed anxiety. As someone who’s been on both sides of this experience, I can tell you that emotional suppression and emotional resilience are not the same thing. Resilience requires experience. It demands that emotions be felt. Resilience requires far more strength, and the benefit is a life with far more depth, connection, and richness than anything I could have ever imagined before therapy. Suppression, on the other hand, forces emotions to be carried with us for years and can lead to mental and physical health problems later in life. I would imagine that a solid majority of poker players struggle with this. I highly recommend seeking a therapist who can help you learn to access and reprocess suppressed emotions, as well as help you develop the tools to process your emotions in real time. This has been the best gift life has ever given me - a life rich with emotional depth and emotional intelligence, so that every single one of my relationships have improved, and I am better able to show up for myself and the people in my life. And if you’re concerned that your emotions will hurt your game, I’d like to add this: some of the highest performing players I know are also some of the most emotionally intelligent people I know. Initially, it may hinder your game, but eventually it should turn around, and the benefit you’ll find in every other area of your life is well worth it.
Jeremy Ausmus@jeremyausmus

When you play poker for a living it trains you to put your feeling aside so you can keep playing well, not letting your emotions effect your decisions. This is very important for a players bottom line. However, recently I've realized that being in the habit of muting your emotions isn't healthy in many other areas of your life. Sure it can give you resilience throughout the day but avoiding these emotions eventually leads to you feeling numb to a lot of things in life. Recently, I'm trying to focus on them more and really feel them and then move on. Maybe at the table isn't the ideal times for this but eventually you need to process these emotions. I'm already finding that being in tune with your mind and body and not shoving feelings to the side definitely has benefits.

@_danhell Wonderfully said, I actually started going to therapy about 3 years ago dealing with this exact thing. I didn't feel much emotions outside of poker, and I felt like that was a problem. It's been a work in progress, but I've made great progress in my emotional intelligence since

@ThePokerBoss All cards must be tabled. As soon as Player A turns his 5 face down, his hand is dead.

Ruling Scenario – Seven Card Stud: Showdown. Player A has four diamonds showing. He turns over one down card, revealing the Jack of diamonds for a flush. His other two down cards remain unexposed. Player B tables all seven cards and shows Aces and Four. Two pair. Player A mistakenly believes he sees a full house. He takes his five exposed cards, the flush, turns them face down onto the two unexposed hole cards, and mucks all seven. Now what? Who wins the pot? Does the exposed flush play? Or does the muck kill the hand completely?

Poker world has the epic @WSOP slow roll all wrong. Actually a selfless act by @EWassPoker. By tanking Aces, Eric was giving @BennyGlaser every possible second to ladder $200k if someone busted at other table. Most people just take the chips. Wass gave the gift of time. 💪

@rainstormblue The visual is awful. I figured it out by saying aloud man + parrot = 200 and m-p=170. Then it clicked for me: m =185 and p = 15

I am reposting this because I know how awesome the poker community is: Amber has been a single mother for 3 years, but recently the father has decided to try to gain custody. Amber is working non-stop to cover her legal fees on top of her normal expenses. Please consider donating if you’re able ❤️ She truly deserves the support

Hey guys, I don’t post things like this too often but this one hits close to home. A friend of mine is going through a custody battle, and from the details she has shared with me privately, it’s incredibly important that she wins. If you can, please consider donating gofund.me/58eb5de3

@scott_seiver @BartHanson Honestly no one even taught me the “right” way, this was just my most natural response. Could easily be wrong, esp since live 5 could cause confusion

@_danhell @BartHanson I’m sure you’re right but something in my gut doesn’t like live 5 because 45 is a live 5 which is a wheel. I think I’d just say 6 low

How would you announce the high and low of the below hands on the following board: Board: 236A4 A: KK65 B: AA24 C: 8765 HINT: O8 players announce their low hand as a two card holding at most, unlike razz or Stud 8 because it’s a community card game.
