I am genuinely sad as this summer comes to an end. The WSOP is truly special. Every summer is packed with growth, and something about the slower pace of the development of connections over the years deepens the magic. Love y’all. See you next year.

@Chris_D_Brewer It’s also only possible now because they are down to single degit tables and it’s the only time in the tournament where they have enough dealers that can operate a shot clock and get the pot right.

Heard they added shot clock to main event with 20 seconds pre…. Completely awful decision and insanely unfair to every recreational still in the field

Just got a pretty sweet offer to a private game. It’s only $200 per player every half hour. Oh and I have to sell 50% of my action to the game runner. Now I just have to put up tens or hundreds of thousands, not get cheated, win, and then hopefully get paid. I might’ve gotten poorer just hearing about this.

@voidpires The best way to combat time blindness is to build in buffer time to your getting ready and travel times. I have pretty severe ADHD that I’m no longer medicated for and I’m never late, because buffer time.

I also think people misuse the term time blindness btw. An alarm will always work for time blindness, because you are no longer blind to the time. Not being able to get up and leave when it goes off is a separate issue (executive dysfunction) and requires different solutions

I don’t see how this is useful. WSOP already knows who their good dealers are. Floors and DCs track this all summer. Why not just pay your dealers commensurately for skill, years worked, or the responsibility they’re entrusted with? Bonuses are nice. Raises, likely more effective

@FrankieCucc I used to do this for a home game. And no. Shufflers are just fine.

In Taiwan, they’re dealing time limit tournaments with two decks at a time and using 30 second shot clocks. Really speeds the game up and makes live poker much more enjoyable. Should we bring this system out west?

@VegasHayls The TABC had enough to get a warrant to investigate and make their case stronger. No charges filed doesn’t mean there won’t be charges filed. I’ve been involved in something like this before and charges didn’t come till 1.5 years after shut down.
