@mattokine @wendy_harmer @_denisescott Caught the first episodes on iview too Wendy. The tone is perfect It's very difficult to balance and get that delicate sweet spot between satire/humour and pathos/sadness. It has just enough of the bitter sweet (ps: I've never seen the original, so I'm not comparing)

Caught up with 'Mother and Son' - with the superb @_denisescott She is magnificent, her comic timing on point (as always). Plaudits for all the cast and crew and @mattokine who updates the scenario perfectly. Well done, all.

Cancer can take so much away from you, worrying about scans, inability to make plans - the painful veins, the terrifying fear of what comes next, nobody can take any of that uncertainty away and no amount of “be positive” can calm the night fears- we just keep going till we can’t

Dear @_denisescott @mattokine Huge congrats to both of you for #MotherAndSon. I love the ensemble cast and the delightful warm-hearted tone of the show. But I esp. enjoy all the little moments (the small pauses, the glances, witty asides) from each of you. It's so good. 😊

@PeterWMurphy1 @_denisescott @mattokine @virginia_gay This 'remake' is so far removed from a 'remake' it allows both versions to stand on their own merits. There's so much more in the new version I love without feeling I'm cheating on the original. 🥴

I was reluctant to watch the new version because I loved the original so much, but after 2 episodes, I am absolutely loving the new version. It is truly a modern day homage to something old(er) that was fantastic and loved.

If you're not watching ABC's #MotherAndSon with @_denisescott @mattokine Angela Nica Sullen @virginia_gay and others, you are missing so much. Quality, kind-hearted, funny Australian comedy. 😊

Ok, so I watched #MotherAndSon tonight. I thought it was well written and performed. No comparison to the original (which i regard as classic Australian TV; always will be). For me there were laugh out loud moments & the back story was well explained. Good job @mattokine.
