@brankopetric00 If the web is just a client side app (no server logic) the requests to the API are done by the client's web browser, so, assuming that in this scenario the same host is server the web, api and running the browser, localhost will work IF the api container exports the 8080 port.

Scenario: Two containers on the same Docker bridge network. Container A (Web App) needs to talk to Container B (API). In the Web App config, the developer put: API_URL = 'http://localhost:8080' It fails. Why does 'localhost' not work here, and what should the URL be instead?

@basedjensen Containers still need something to run on. They’re probably grouping them in a single VM, or they just have bigger things to worry about at this stage than optimizing efficiency. It would be interesting to see how much they could save in their bills if properly done at that scale

I am sorry But 18 million instances ? I have run some of the largest clusters in the world serving 100s of millions of users and we were no where close to 18m nodes

I hope you are going to build your own stack for security (for example DDoS protection) so you do not rely on anyone 😅. You will depend on someone at some point or you will probably be less reliable than relaying on smn.
