It sure seems, esp. as of late, that new elements of the "game" are interjected into the narrative at just the right times, almost to cause a reaction (or distraction). This hidden power, regardless of it's true nature, lines up seamlessly with Vallée's idea of a spiritual control system for human consciousness.
