@JexMix4 @hell_line0 No one was complaining when that racist district was created a few years ago, it eliminated a seat held by a white representative. But that was okay I guess.

@hell_line0 So are the two black kids not allowed to vote because of her ruling? I'm confused and trying to understand. What rights were taken from the black kids?

Love how his wife didn’t argue, she just got down & took her own car. I wonder why mothers always want to drag the front seat with their sons wife.

.@LAGovJeffLandry's executive order canceling U.S. House races is on display at East Baton Rouge's main early voting location. There are MANY other elections going on that have not been canceled. You should still go vote. #lalege

This is what it looks like to stand up when democracy is on the line! Florida Rep. Angie Nixon disrupted a special session to protest gerrymandering, declaring, “This is a violation of the Constitution.” We must continue to protect the power of the people’s vote! ✊🏿 🎥: philsomething/IG

@CourtyardBrew Um, how did he get elected in the 1st place? And where did his district cone from and how long has it been in existence? If the races were reversed, this district would not have been created because it eliminated an elected representatives district. He's white tho, so it's okay

I think I should amend this to say, "if you vote for a black person". That's who the racist Republicans are writing laws to block or take out of office. They aren't blocking White Democrats (yet) just elected Black people who happen to be Democrats.

"You should still vote. It's important." Not in Louisiana. In Louisiana if you vote for a Democrat the Republicans will just draft a new law that takes away that elected position. Your vote doesn't matter in Louisiana. The elections are rigged before, during, and after the fact.

@johnbisognano The new district created a few years ago specifically for Cleo Fields? That's some really crazy gerrymandering, so bad that the Supreme Court had to rule on it. Now take the lick. I guess it was worth a try, lol

We did not cancel elections during the Civil War. We did not cancel elections for World War II. We did not cancel elections for COVID. But the Louisiana Governor sees the opportunity to gerrymander Black members out of their seats and… STATE OF EMERGENCY: ELECTION CANCELLED

A day after the Supreme Court further gutted the Voting Rights Act, GOP-led states are eying changes to boost the GOP’s gerrymandering effort at the expense of voters of color, while voting rights groups are trying to limit the impact of the ruling on this year’s midterms. cnn.it/48APJ6C

@nolasigma NOLA has had black mayors. They keep going to jail. Now the outgoing black sheriff just got arrested. To be fair, plenty of Louisiana's white politicians get arrested too.

@cosmicbeka @MCdaRealKang The churches all organize rides to the polls. And lots of community outreach to let people know that there are many ways to get a ride to vote. There is also early voting, so it doesn't even have to be on that one election day

Stop exaggerating. Louisiana has large Black populations in every corner of the state, and 4/6 districts from the previous map could easily be won by a Black candidate. Problem is only 25-30% of registered Black voters participate annually; can't get far with those #'s.

You want to know why some of y’all get side-eyed?! We are standing at the edge of the greatest rollback of Black voting and political power in over 150 years. Not abstract. Not theoretical. Real. Black representation across the South is on the chopping block. And yet… look at what some of our so-called “allies” are focused on. Wrong moment. Wrong fight. Wrong priorities. There’s a reason the Right has been so determined to erase history. Because this ain’t new. We’ve seen this movie before. And last time? It took over 100 years for Black communities to claw their way back to representation. 100 years. WE are not about to relive that. This is our fight.

NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT THE REAL STORY HERE Yes, King Charles just visited the White House. Yes, Trump and Melania walked him out personally to say goodbye. But here's the part everyone is missing: This is the first time a reigning British monarch has made an official state visit to Washington in history. Charles didn't send a diplomat. He didn't send a letter. He flew across the Atlantic himself — in person — during one of the most strained periods in the US-UK relationship in decades. Trade negotiations unresolved. NATO funding disputes ongoing. The Iran situation still unfolding. And the King of England showed up anyway. → You don't send a monarch for a photo op → You send a monarch when the relationship needs something only a monarch can deliver → A personal appearance from the Crown is a message to every other ally watching The handshake on the South Lawn with both flags flying wasn't ceremony. It was the UK signaling to the entire world that whatever tensions exist, the alliance holds. That's what nobody is saying out loud. When a king travels to you, it means the back channels weren't enough. And both sides knew it. Follow before, it's too late, if you don't, you will regret it.

@HillaryClinton Well, in Louisiana they redrew it a few years ago, eliminating a white representative's district, and creating a new one specifically to be a black district. Lines are crazy, which is why it went all the way to the Supreme Court.
