The difference between Treasury Bills, Mutual Funds, and Federal Government Bonds
Treasury Bills are low risk government backed investments where you are essentially lending money to the government for a short period. You buy at a discount and get your full amount back at maturity plus interest. They are best for short term, usually under one year, and are ideal if you want capital safety.
Mutual Funds are pooled investments managed by professionals. They are more flexible because you can usually withdraw when needed, and they can generate returns through diversification and compounding. They suit people who want a balance between safety and growth over time.
Federal Government Bonds (FGN Bonds) are also government backed but designed for longer term investing. You lend money to the government for 2 to 3 years or more and receive interest payments periodically, while your capital is returned at maturity. They are best for long term, stable income seekers.
In simple terms:
Treasury Bills are short term and predictable
Mutual Funds are flexible and growth oriented
FGN Bonds are long term and structured
All three are relatively low risk and often accessible with small starting amounts.

Some of you will touch ₦20m for the first time and immediately rush to buy iPhone 16 Pro Max & plan vacation. Relax.
Lock down 7 year govt bond @ 17% → ₦5.5m
Buy stocks of good companies → ₦9m
Put ₦3m into Money Market(or Equity) Funds
Keep ₦2m and continuously flip commercial papers
Use 500k for liquidity.
Your life won’t be stressful again.
School won’t teach you this. I just did.

There was a time the whole street would go silent when “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” was on TV.
Families gathered together, parents answered questions confidently, children learned new things, and people actually admired intelligence.
Now the same attention has shifted to Big Brother Naija.
We moved from celebrating knowledge to celebrating gbas gbos, ships, and scandals.
One program made people want to read more.
The other makes people want to trend more.
That switch says a lot about us as a society.

@Onsogbu Document everything: original receipt, current price list, your offer.
Stay calm but firm. no refund now, either pay difference or you refund original amount
If he wants to sue, let him. It’s a small claim. Courts typically side with sellers in commodity disputes like this.

I sell cement at the market here in Abeokuta. A customer came to pay for 150 bags of cement, collected receipt and disappeared for over 4 months.
Yesterday, he came back with trucks to carry the cement. He said he had been seriously sick since the day after he made payment, that’s why he couldn’t come earlier.
I explained to him that the price of cement has increased since then and he needs to add more money before carrying the goods. I even offered to refund the exact amount he paid back then if he’s not comfortable.
Omo, the man got angry immediately
He said he’s not adding any money and he’s not collecting refund. According to him, “na the cement wey I pay for I wan carry.”
He even threatened to drag me legally next week.
Before he drags me, that’s why I said I should ask if I’m really wrong because honestly, market price don go up and I no wan lose money o.
Pls what do I do now I need your advice it seems this man wants to chêât me ?

How to calculate your dividend from stocks
Imagine you invested ₦1.5 million in GTCO some months ago at around ₦135 per share.
That means you bought approximately 11,111 shares.
GTCO recently paid a final dividend of ₦11.76 per share.
Here is the simple calculation:
11,111 shares × ₦11.76 dividend = ₦130,665 cash payout
That is money paid directly to shareholders simply for owning the stock.
Now add capital appreciation:
• GTCO share price has moved from around ₦135 to about ₦140 - ₦144
• Your ₦1.5 million investment is now worth approximately ₦1.55M - ₦1.60M
So your total return comes from:
• Share price growth
• Dividend income
• Long term compounding
Start small.
Stay consistent.
Buy quality companies.
