@bryanprimu they are absolutely not the same thing. you might compare them with the 'server-only' package (which however only works for react server components, not for arbitrary server vs. client distinction) also, marking files using those imports is just ONE way.

@ryanflorence What are your concerns with “as” specifically? I do understand the asChild as I need to clone the element and what not. Is it semantics or ergonomics or something else? Just curious as I am using “as” in our component library specifically to support Link

Remix 3 mixins are like components for element behavior. One thing I love about them is it gets rid of the awkward as/asChild composition dance.

@SawyerMerritt Y juniper v14.2/14.3: - unreliable speed-limit recognition - hesitation mid-turn when cars appear - risky right-side passes near lane closures - inconsistent debris detection - don’t trust with animals at 70mph - bad weather (heavy rain) - parking often off-center. - navigation

If you use any version of FSD (Supervised) V14, what is the most common reason you disengage (even if it’s rare)?

@TeslaAaronL FSD as of now (14.2.2) tends to break in certain situations that it shouldn’t (yield right turns) so not quite off

“keep distance for FSD driving” 😀 Showing other drivers that the car is running on FSD is actually a great idea. But the wording isn’t good.

@devongovett @raythurnvoid Yes sure, but maybe that could be a problem since everyone will do their own way and naming with their own naming conventions. We know naming things is hard sometimes. I am not saying it’s wrong, I do like having this namespace approach, I am just curious if that was considered.

@devongovett @raythurnvoid Interesting approach! If we use Popover without RAC, which subpath would it pull from? I wonder if importing from different subpaths might cause friction. Also, how should de handle naming collisions when importing multiple RAC components? Would love to hear your thoughts!

@raythurnvoid That’s why it is a subpath - the only things included in there are required for the component anyway. Also most bundlers can tree shake unused values from import * anyway.

@devongovett Regarding the subpath curious to know the difference in time for faster build and tree shaking? I guess the downside would discoverability from the type system and having to have multiple imports? Asking because I am doing the other way around github.com/eBay/evo-web/b…

The next version of React Aria has 90% fewer dependencies (from 127 down to just 13). It also supports subpath imports, e.g. "react-aria-components/Button". This means easier upgrades, faster builds, more effective tree shaking, and improved micro-frontend support. 🚀

@OutofSpecDetail @Tesla IMO autopilot is horrible. Specially in the new MY where you don’t have double tap. It also tends to get the right line as a reference so every merge it moves the car to the right. Many details that to me is dangerous to use. Toyota cruise control and line center is way better.

This is a terrible decision @Tesla 👎 I genuinely do not understand this decision. For folks cross shopping cars in a $400-$500 payment category, spending an extra $99 a month for even basic lane centering (I understand FSD is much more than that) doesn’t seem reasonable. People at this price point are often stretching to even afford that payment let alone spending another $8000 or 20-25% more per month for ADAS features. Traffic Aware Cruise Control is absolutely horrendous as it is with phantom braking. Autopilot is more than usable on highways and interstates.
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

NEWS: Tesla has officially discontinued Autopilot in the U.S. and Canada. All new car purchases now come standard with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control. The online configurator has now been updated to allow buyers to choose the $99/month FSD subscription, while still offering the option to purchase FSD outright for $8,000 until February 14th. New Tesla vehicles purchases still come with a 30-day free trial of FSD (Supervised).
