Today is the one year anniversary of my sister's suicide. I thought I would be ok. I'm not. I'm a wreck. Today is the second year of coping with losing most of my mom to a stroke. You never know what someone is going through. Be kind to others, please. It makes a difference.

In 2008, a Quaker parrot named Willie alerted his owner, Megan Howard, that a toddler she was babysitting started choking on her breakfast. When 2-year-old Hannah began to turn blue, the bird squawked loudly to get Megan's attention. Then he started saying 'Mama baby' repeatedly. Megan hurried to Hannah and performed the Heimlich maneuver, ultimately saving her life. Megan later expressed that if Willie hadn't alerted her, she might not have come out of the bathroom in time, as the child was already turning blue. For saving the child’s life, Willie was awarded the local Red Cross chapter's Animal Lifesaver Award.

No one in FPS esports knows how to win more than this man. He has been winning titles since 2008 in a game that has the least variance of any esports title. Truly one of the greatest legacies in esports history. I want to take a moment to describe some of the things that have always had me in awe when it comes to Shane. In a game full of mechanical monsters, he has always found a way to outplay them with superior smarts, not superior aim. His ability to adapt to opponents, in-tournament, is incredible. When he does lose, he always finds a way to use the loss to determine the necessary adjustments and is able to implement them immediately to preserve his tournament runs with great consistency. In Quake, a game that is lightning-fast, this is unbelievably difficult to do like he does. Another quality that sets Rapha apart is something I've always called the Champions Mindset. Others may call this Mamba Mentality; call it what you want. His psychology is that of a champion and that is the quality that characterizes him more than any of his other remarkable traits. His drive, how he meets adversity, how he lives the duality of the student and the master-- If you ever see him in a competitive setting, you will immediately understand this about him. A bonus quality that I love about him is how he is able to articulate and confer his wisdom and knowledge to others and how generous he is to do so. When I was competing in Diabotical in 2020 against him, despite being one of his frequent opponents in competition, he would offer me his time to provide feedback to help me to improve. He understands that better competition = better Rapha. All ships rise in a high tide. In Quake Duel, Rapha is the main character. Congratulations to Rapha!

Most players don’t even have enough time to simple learn the mechanics to move, gather items, juggle weapons all in a lightning fast pace that seperates the wheat from the chaff. Not enough players allow a skill based mma

@myztrovengeur @Quake The game is gatekept by old legacy players with a movemeng style unique to afps/quake games that other games don’t translate in the modern era of controller based movement. The most adaptable movement for a controller is grapple hooks (hence the popularity) and 1/
