For those worried about Rocco Galati - don't be. He's still around, losing cases.
Dorceus (Ontario Healthcare Workers) appeal has been dismissed.

@iam_preethi Its crazy how much fluid builds up everywhere in pregnancy (and crazy how much fluid is lost in the first few weeks post partum), must be such a relief
English

Sudden blurry vision in pregnancy is sometimes the first sign of preeclampsia. But for most women, it is something else entirely.
Pregnancy temporarily changes the shape of your eyes. The hormonal shifts cause fluid retention in your cornea, which changes how light bends through it. Your contact lenses can suddenly feel uncomfortable. Your glasses prescription can shift. Up to 40% of pregnant women develop dry eye too. This is why most eye doctors will tell you to wait until several weeks postpartum before updating your prescription. Everything tends to settle by then.
If your vision is shifting slowly during pregnancy, you are not imagining it. If it changes suddenly along with a bad headache, swelling, or visual spots, get checked immediately. Those are signs of preeclampsia, and they cannot wait.

@julia_follin I never really understood thay advice. A couple could get married in their early 20s, have 2 kids in their early-mid 20s and take a break ... and what if later they're 38-43 and they desire another kid, are they supposed to just not have another cuz they're deemed "too late"?
English

Have kids whenever is biologically possible 🙃 you cannot have kids if you dont have a stable relationship. Kids require 2 adults.
You cannot have a stable relationship if you feel unhealthy at a point in life.
Just have them. That’s that.

"Have kids later in life.” This is one of the worst pieces of advice I've ever seen that is often given to women.... What do you think?

@littleapostate Hospital nurses (not all, but many) have potential to be mean, vile, and rigid to the ways they were taught without the ability to consider another perspective, and I say this as a nurse myself

@realfemsapien I don't think cosmetic surgeries are getting less expensive. A breast augmentation is still atleast 10K
English

Fit older women who have not gotten boob jobs, I am so grateful to you ladies.
It's really helpful to see women embracing the aging process at a lower body fat percentage, unaltered, and it inspires me to do the same.
As cosmetic surgeries become less expensive, it's more normalized for women to get work done, and it's harder to embrace aging with confidence.
Thank you ladies for choosing a different path.

@iam_preethi This is why its not a good idea to get a pet before having kids. Get a pet after youre done having kids (preferably once your kids are grown so you have more time to dedicate to a pet)
English

This is real and there is a biological reason for it. After you have a baby, your brain rewires to be on high alert for anything that could hurt the baby.
Your sense of smell gets sharper. You become more sensitive to germs, noise, and mess. The dog you used to love is suddenly too loud, too smelly and too unpredictable around your newborn. You are also making a ton of oxytocin and prolactin, which make you fiercely protective of your baby. The dog is just not your priority anymore.
For most women this fades over the first year. For some it never fully comes back.

interesting new concept to come out of the tiktok pop psych mom-o-sphere: "postpartum pet aversion" - in other words, woman dotes on furbaby, becomes pregnant, has baby, suddenly overnight becomes annoyed and suspicious of family dog. what could be the cause of this phenomenon?

@Tablecloth123_ @RareyDairy Why can't her parents go to church? Church is important for all
English

My parents around Christmas: This is your first Christmas with the babies! What do you guys want to do!?
Me: We're keeping it low key. Going to church. You should come! They'd love to have you!
-Silence-
My parents around mother's day: It's your first mother's day with the babies! What do you want to do?

@littleapostate Why are L&D nurses so nasty? Obviously not all, but so many stories of L&D nurses being pushy, uncaring, or nasty

@wing_trad Why would you want to be intentionally aesthetically ugly at any age if there’s an alternative? Even if no one else sees you, giving up on your looks doesn’t seem very fair to your spouse.
