NETHERLANDS: Islamists are marching to demand an Islamic Caliphate and Sharia law, whilst waving ISIS, Al-Qaeda and Taliban flags. These are the same people who attacked Israelis in Amsterdam! Remember, they go after Jews first, then they turn on everyone else!

@PhilipOConnor5 I think the secret service follows him around like that regardless of the purpose. If he wanted to go to Walmart to buy something, same. Even ex presidents have the same albeit more limited than current president at the time.

rollcall.com/factbase/trump… In my opinion, this is a bizarre Presidential trip. It would seem, despite our PM flying to meet him in Aberdeen, to be essentially a 'business trip'. Of course, with all the expensive panoply of a US Presidential trip. Helicopters and and cars flown in.

Obviously, I have reported Lee Anderson to the Cabinet Office. I hope that many others have. He seems to have zero understanding of what "sub judice" means.

You can’t get married at 16, you can’t buy alcohol, you can’t drive, you can’t buy cigarettes, you’re legally not an adult, but you will be able to vote in a General Election on the next government, as Labour are desperate for the votes of children. Labour are corrupt.

Matt Goodwin is the male version of Claire Fox. Both serve as excellent moral compasses. If you want to try and be a half-decent human being, read their posts and carefully listen to their advice. And then do the *exact* opposite.

@PhilipOConnor5 I don’t have a problem with it. But there has for some reason been lots of opposition against for years. I wouldn’t say we really need it. But don’t care either way

@_jfly_ Simon, I have always been for ID cards. I cannot, and never have, understood the obsession with some British people against them. Quite apart from anything else, they would, probably, be a deterrent against illegal immigration.

The argument against extending the voting right to 16 year olds would seem to be totally reactionary. Many 16 year olds are much brighter and aware than many 60 year olds. So why not? If you can marry, join the military why not be allowed to vote?

Today we’re delivering on our promise to give 16 and 17 year olds the right to vote. Young people already contribute to society by working, paying taxes and serving in the military. It's only right they can have a say on the issues that affect them. #VotesAt16

1 in 5 cars sold in the UK are paid for by the taxpayer through the Motability program, including BMWs and Audis. There’s no means testing, so households with six figure incomes are getting luxury coupes on the taxpayer’s dime. Over half of the recipients of the free cars have never had a medical exam to assess eligibility. If it’s the government’s position that everyone in the UK should get a free car, then they should be honest and give one to everyone. As things stand, the system is totally rigged against those who play by the rules.

Assuming this stat is correct. Step back and let’s think. A car should last about 10 years for a normal person in my book. If 1in 5 cars purchased annually is a motability car. Then clearly these cars are used from new for a few years before a new one is purchased again. So Zia is correct. Money is being wasted. You can argue that this is money that belongs to disabled people. Or you can take the view that far too much money is paid as the motability benefit. Like many benefits no doubt. He’s right. Taxpayer money being thrown down the toilet. Yet again.

Do you, really, not get it? Gibraltar was, by far, the most overwhelming pro Remain "constituency" in the 2016 Referendum. Together with the majority of people in Northern Ireland they realised the folly of Leave. Brexit has been about a nostalgic vision of England, not beyond.
John Redwood@johnredwood

Gibraltar has twice voted overwhelmingly to stay British. The government must not sign a deal which undermines our sovereignty. That is clearly established by Treaty.

A lovely bit of smooth tarmac, downhill all the way, and then around a corner you have this new addition jutting out. Are you going to yield? Not a chance. Will you even be able to brake? I doubt it. Plenty are going swing out to try and make the gap:

@BarbaraVonBauer There are questions as to if that is legal under international law. It may just end up being interest accrued on those assets since they were seized

Europe talks a lot,but does little.Transfer more than $200 billion of Russian assets frozen in Ukraine. Save the Ukrainian economy & military industry. This is the only way for the EU to be respectable peace negotiaton with US & Russia." EU Lady"- you must fight for your peace.
