I can just imagine a driver reporting to the police, "I saw a sleigh with Santa Claus flying over the road!"

The $18 min wage proposal in AZ is equivalent to cities like San Francisco raising it to $25-$30. Even they don't go that far. In real terms, AZ's min wage is already higher than many. Instead, train people! Astonishingly dumb proposal. bizjournals.com/phoenix/news/2… via @phxbizjournal

A classic economics misinterpretation. A housing market "recovery" is getting everything back into balance, including a return to the historical trend for prices. Higher prices means housing is going to be even more unaffordable. This negatively impacts economic growth.

One housing expert believes the Phoenix housing market can post "new record highs in the coming year." bizjournals.com/phoenix/news/2…

NEW must-read column from @dbseiden pushes back on misinformation about Arizona’s workforce & water situation. AZ is and will remain a top destination for manufacturing investment thanks to a skilled workforce & decades of smart water planning & policy. foreignpolicy.com/2023/08/15/tsm…

Is there a proper analysis to review? If ESA’s cost less per student, capture it. In short/mid term, adjust for fixed costs at the district schools. Adjust for any other district specific cost. Part 2, calc econ gains from any performance points. Etc. Etc. Fairly simple stuff.
Catherine Miranda@CatherineSenate

I say let’s not forget our original fight and not give in this time…me included. JLBC’s report from ADE regarding their estimate for ESAs in FY 24 is $900,000,000 which is significantly above what was in the approved budget. See you on the 12th! @AZSenateDems @AZHouseDems

Excellent hire by @GovernorHobbs. @repcampbell’s legislative expertise and private sector experience will be a huge asset to this administration, and we look forward to working with him and the team to continue securing wins for Arizona’s economy and job creators.

BREAKING IN ARIONA—@GovernorHobbs names Chad Campbell as her new chief of staff— staff has been briefed. Here he is in 2014 talking to me about his last state budget vote in the House. Hobbs and Campbell have been friends for years. azcentral.com/videos/news/po…

@NicoleSGrigg Flashbacks to fourteen years on tempe city council, ten as mayor. I miss a lot about public service; such entertainment weekly, well, maybe not so much. But we respectfully listen. And then we move on and do the work of democracy we were elected to do.

The economy is often on Arizonans' minds. And it's a particularly thought-provoking — and important — factor during election season. To learn how important the economy is in the election, The Show speaks with @_jimrounds and Joe Garcia of @CPLCcommunity. bit.ly/3gizORU

If we are already in a recession (we aren't quite there BTW), then we should be coming out of it around September. Thus, if you are a "recession now" candidate, then you must start saying that things are about to get much better. Well played! 🤔
