Trauma Brain-- the internalized voices of our bullies and abusers-- is going to try to reduce our CPTSD down to "not having our sh*t together." It's on us to remember: CPTSD is an injury, w/ physical, psychological, & even spiritual aspects. "Suck it up" doesn't heal injuries.

I obviously don’t need to spell out why victims and survivors will be less likely to seek out help if they believe their throwaway accounts are identifiable. Did nobody think of this. Because I can no longer access spaces on Reddit and Discord😂

Because this country is fucking stupid, thanks to the Online Safety Bill, spaces and forums for victims and survivors of sexual assault and abuse are now hidden behind verification walls. But we saved the children!!!!!! /s

@Jess4Lowestoft Spaces and forums for sexual assault and abuse survivors are now behind verification walls. When for OBVIOUS reasons, SA and DA victims do NOT want to have their accounts traced back to them. But congrats, you saved the children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done to everyone who campaigned to ensure age verification for pornography was in the Online Safety Act! Today it comes into force and while no doubt there will be some who get around it, it means young kids in particular won’t be stumbling on violent and harmful porn.

A disabled person is admitted to hospital. Their carer stays — because staff can’t meet their needs. But the system says: Stop PIP. Stop Carer’s Allowance. As if the care ends. As if the bills stop. It’s not support. It’s punishment — and it’s built on ignorance.
Rachel A-S@Chuffin_ell

The £83.30 per week Carer’s Allowance isn’t a wage. It’s a token. It works out to £3.56 per hour for 35 hours — and many carers give 60–100 hours a week. That’s 24/7 responsibility with no sick pay, no annual leave, no pension, and no job security 🧵

I need people who haven't been through PIP assessment to understand how evil, arbitrary, and designed to make you fail it is. They deliberately make the buildings inaccessible to 'test' you, and they observe you in secret from the moment you arrive for your assessment.

Imagine thinking the disabled people of today would be willing to sell out the disabled people of tomorrow to protect ourselves from cuts that shouldn't be happening at all Tell me you don't understand community without telling me etc etc

I urge any MP staying quiet to study the PIP scoring criteria properly. If you support Starmer, you're stating that someone who can't cook, dress, go to the toilet, get in or out of the bath or wash their private parts without daily care isn't disabled. Dystopian and horrifying.

.@kimleadbeater you are misleading the House before today’s vote. You know the Royal College of Psychiatry - the experts in capacity & coercion - has explicitly opposed your bill. It breaks my heart that you would use a sleight of hand to mislead MPs and the public in this way.

This is pathetic but even moreso when you know we didn’t even vote for councillors this election and our MP in this area is Labour. We only have 2 Reform councillors out of 42. They can act like they’re winning all they want but they’re talking shit

🗣️ 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦 𝗪𝗘𝗕𝗕 𝗠𝗣 Welcome news from yesterday’s Spring Statement includes a further £2bn for social and affordable housing, a new skills programme to train up to 60,000 more skilled construction workers, and an investment in defence that I am hopeful will translate into new job opportunities at BAE. But the government’s own impact assessment of the budget reveals that 250,000 more people, including 50,000 more children, will be plunged into poverty as a result of planned cuts to disability benefits. Meanwhile, new government data shows child poverty has already reached a record high of 4.5m – 100,000 more than last year. In Blackpool South, where almost half of children live in poverty, around 1,000 more children were plunged into absolute poverty last year. I made a commitment to Blackpool South that I would never vote for anything that makes local people poorer. These cuts will push even more people in Blackpool into hardship and deepen the struggles of families already on the brink. I will be voting against these cuts and urging the government to pursue fairer alternatives.
