@jetinarround like I think somewhere in TROS they probably could've made a pretty interesting film, certainly more compelling if not necessarily great

@jetinarround a lot of the ideas in the original drafts for Rise of Skywalker seemed so much more compelling and then things were steadily streamlined and removed as production ran up against time constraints
or at least that one YouTube vid that outlined a lot of og ideas seemed way cooler

Wanted to keep things largely the same, but with a 2026 spin to things to modernise things, including a darker themed website with a BF inspired typeface

@JboiHQ I also think the audience knowing that Belinda is alive kinda messes up the stakes of the scene.
But yeah, regardless, the ep's whole setup just doesn't work so approaching it on its own terms is a sorta meaningless exercise lol

@Tales_TimeLord you know what I do agree in that sense, I think tone wise they work better as more fam era stuff, but I imagine there's some logistical stuff at play with it being purely 13/Yaz. I don't think there's necessarily no room there, there's plenty, but it is quite a heavy busy time so

@Tales_TimeLord I'd be up for some Division eventually but I think so far carving out a new space for 13 is for the best, much like 9's first lil BF era, it gives us a good basis of fresh stories without feeling like fanwank central, and standalone adventure is really what DW should be imo

@OmegaShinku @_alialkhatib I wasn't trying to argue that he'd been entirely uncontroversial prior to purchasing twitter, ik that his purchase of twitter was somewhat politically motivated as well, but I think before that point the general public wasn't particularly aware of how noxious his thoughts were

i'm really just noticing how conspicuously widespread these references were for a short period of time. it came up in star trek too. did he pay a PR team to try to get his name in tv shows, or were writers just all organically doing this?
