Oli. Thank you. I have been saying this for two years and people look at me like I'm insane. I started tracking this in 2024. I built a spreadsheet. The premise is simple: if your net worth exceeds the net worth of the person you're criticizing, your criticism is void. It's basic logic. You cannot punch laterally or downward on the wealth axis. Only upward. I call it the Credibility Differential. The spreadsheet now has 4,200 entries. Every public figure who has commented on wealth is cataloged with their estimated net worth at the time of the statement and the estimated net worth of the person they referenced. If the ratio is below 1:1, the statement is flagged as hypocrisy. If it's above 1:1, it's legitimate commentary. I have not taken a vacation in nineteen months. The complications started in Q3 2024. Some people's net worth fluctuates. Musk was worth $240 billion in January and $190 billion in March. This means a person who criticized him in January from a position of $200 million was punching up, but the same person making the same criticism in March was operating at a ratio of approximately 1:0.95, which is within my margin of error but technically lateral. I had to add a "time of statement" column. Then a "market close" column. Then an "adjusted for illiquid assets" column. The spreadsheet has forty-seven tabs. My wife asked what I do all day. I said "calibration." I recently had to flag myself. I commented on a local car dealership owner's Facebook post about the economy. His estimated net worth is $2.3 million. Mine is approximately $2.1 million. This is a ratio of 1:0.91. I was punching laterally. I deleted the comment immediately. I then had to decide whether my comment criticizing my own comment constituted a new entry. It did. I logged it. The system must be consistent or it means nothing. You are one of the few people doing this work publicly. According to my data your current estimated net worth keeps you credentialed to critique anyone above approximately $4 million. Guard that number. The moment your net worth crosses a threshold your entire archive becomes void. I check mine weekly. Some mornings I wake up and the first thing I do is check whether overnight market movements have disqualified any of my recent tweets.

Gwyneth Paltrow, who is with $200 million, complains about “super rich white dudes.” “Now all that matters is these kind of super rich white dudes who are breaking rules, setting rules- seemingly like not caring so much about the downstream impact on everything that they say.”

An all-time classic radio moment. I don’t know who this caller was, but the lines, his delivery and timing were sheer perfection.
