I made a good call fading this one! 😅 Despite Machi being a renowned grifter, +$40M was sent to his memecoin pre-sale… It’s no surprise to see the launch play out the way it did (see below). But this begs the question: Does reputation even matter during the bull run? 🤔 The signs were there from the beginning. ✅ A reputable scam artist ✅ Launching during peak memecoin hype ✅ No pre-sale cap His reputation alone should have deterred everyone from being involved! ⚠️ Yet +$40M was sent over the course of just a few days… I say all of this because we speak about reputation being such an important factor (which it definitely is). 💯 Yet a known scam artist continues to grift & gain MILLIONS from this space. It’s very easy to “talk the talk” but how many can also “walk the walk”. 🤔

Is Base the next big move or is it just a well organized PSYOP? 🤔 We're seeing memecoin season on Solana coming to a close... Coincidently, we're now seeing a wave of content advocating Base to be the next huge opportunity within Web3. Here's my take on this matter! ✅ The Pros: ▶️ Since the start of March, Base seems to be ramping up, seeing a surge in new users, on-chain activity & transactions. 📈 ▶️ Coinbase does have 100M registered users AND are building a native smart wallet that will allow retail to trade on-chain seamlessly. (rumored to drop in April) This could see a surge of new money entering the Base ecosystem at a rapid pace! 💨 ▶️ Base boasts low transaction fees, low congestion & a pretty seamless UX. All good factors to consider for those looking to build & explore a different ecosystem. ⛔️ The Cons: ▶️ It's a little suspicious to see this wave of content advocating Base as the next big move, right at this time too... It looks forced, coordinated & quite shilly. 🤔 ▶️ Memecoins seem to be the only narrative being pushed on Base right now. To me, it feels like those already positioned in Base memecoins are attempting to find exit liquidity. 👀 ▶️ Apart from the handful of hyped memecoins, I don't really see any other promising tokens gaining traction - feel free to change my mind. 💭 ▶️ There seems to be a lack of culture on Base - it currently seems almost forced & disingenuous. Overall, Base has potential in the long term - however the current push we are seeing feels forced & orchestrated, with fake hype being generated in order for others to find exit liquidity. It's definitely worth exploring - however tread carefully, don't just FOMO in & buy the top. 🤣 Interested to hear everyone's thoughts in the comments! 🤔💭
