Thinking back to many of the performative & hideous spectacles from the 1st anniversary of the APS massacre like news anchors hosting bulletins wearing the school uniform, yet 7 years on we still haven’t been able to deliver justice for the parents of the children killed that day

Being a Molvi in Pakistan gives you a free pass to break every single law in the country, undermine the state, endanger the lives of everyday people and then be put on a pedestal for it. A truly wonderful existence.

Mufti Aziz-Ur-Rehman, senior JUI-F leader, who runs a madrassa in Lahore seen raping a young boy in his teens. Here, he is seen leading a “Namoose Risalat” rally. Does Rasulullah need such people to protect his honor? Or are these the very people who dishonor his legacy? Think.

As a long time resident of Edmonton and active member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, I am truly hurt seeing this. It’s time to stop pretending like our society isn’t victim to Islamophobia. The denial HAS to stop. All we want is Love for All, Hatred for None.

Sorry but no - not all Pakistani lives matter the same. You literally have laws which enshrine inequality into the DNA of the country. You have shops which refuse service to people of certain faiths. You have buildings where people from the wrong religion can’t rent homes...

The only people still surprised by the callousness of the state are the ones who don’t have to live with the consequences of it every day.

i hope things get better for minorities. i know they only get worse. but despite it i hope pakistan owns its people rather than pushing them back to margins. it takes pride in them instead of wiping their memory and history off of its conscious.

The discourse on twitter today is too much. I’m so tired of seeing my sisters put themselves through so much trauma teaching you all the basics of human decency. It’s disgusting and disheartening and I can’t do it anymore.

I was nine and wrapped in a chaadar outside my school when I was harassed for the first time. I was walking with my lunchbox in my hand and dropped it in shock. When I bent to pick it up, I looked at the guy's face. It has been a decade and a half, I still remember that smirk.

People ask themselves "is this appropriate", we do it differently here we have to ask ourselves "would this get me killed by a mob, or have I hidden what I mean well enough". Living in Pakistan can train you well if you're the right combinations of oppression-able.

For an officer to effectively blame a woman for being gang raped by saying she should have taken the GT Road or question as to why she went out in the night with her children is unacceptable & have taken up this issue. Nothing can ever rationalise the crime of rape. That's it.
