@regularaugust He got a package stolen and mused about wanting to shoot the culprit in the wake of it and everyone immediately started shaking pill bottles at him like Phillies fans throw batteries at the other teams players. The rest is history.

@cacafuegoo @Absurd_Ruka You're telling me that it's impossible for a peace minded president to lastingly alter the bipartisan pro-war consensus, which reinforces my point that war with Iran was inevitable. Quite frankly if Israel had started this war with Obama as prez we'd still be in this scenario

@_mangrub @Absurd_Ruka He tried and the main stream media ripped him a new one, as well as democrats needed to pass it in congress opposing it. You need an Obama level mandate to ignore Israeli pressure.

@cacafuegoo @Absurd_Ruka Why did Biden then go on to completely fail @ redoing the JCPOA, why did they throw the election away for Israel? Is the argument that AIPAC is the entire zionist lobby? Should I ignore Biden & Harris' words & actions? You're making the case that Obama was a weird anomaly

@_mangrub @Absurd_Ruka Why did Obama sign a nuclear deal behind Israel’s back? And why did AIPAC fall in line behind MAGA who cancelled it?

@cacafuegoo @Absurd_Ruka There's no legal mechanism for Americans to thwart govt warmongering (bipartisan elected consensus), so public opinion can be ignored. Gulf monarchies are all fragile semi-feudal "states" dependent on the US. Harris would be compelled to defend Israel, who would still attack Iran

@_mangrub @Absurd_Ruka It’s not that simple. Even monarchies have to have a minimum amount of public support. Otherwise all the Middle East would have normalized with Israel ages ago. I am not saying it that Kamala would avoid it for moral reasons. She would understand it would be a clusterfuck.

@cacafuegoo @Absurd_Ruka You need 0 democratic support to launch a war & by virtue of the 2 party system you'll win minimum 1/2 of elections regardless. However given pulling out of Afghanistan hurt Biden I'm willing to bet his hands would be tied in Iran

@_mangrub @Absurd_Ruka Yes, but you still need some base of support. Trump has like 35% and his party is freaking out and investigating Tucker Carlson. How much support do you think Kamala would have? You thought the Gaza protests were bad, she would get impeached in a minute.

@cacafuegoo @Absurd_Ruka He circumvented Congress to fast track weapons to Israel & ignored the Leahy Laws to do so, if you fell for the Dems' kayfabe it's because you're a colossal rube

@_mangrub @Absurd_Ruka And even then, he was pressured to withhold bigger bombs from Israel and held delayed some of their attacks. Kamala who is less ideologically a Zionist would be much more susceptible to pressure.

@_mangrub @Absurd_Ruka Yes, and that cost his party the election. And that’s nothing compared to going to war ourselves. We just spent hundreds of Billions in last month and dead soldiers. And we are only getting started.

@_mangrub @Absurd_Ruka Who else but Trump could convince a base such as MAGA to support a war they opposed for 10 years. Kamala could never get Dems to support it and she would have 0 approval for the war.

@_mangrub @Absurd_Ruka That’s a very reductive view of things. You don’t think Israel didn’t push Obama and Biden to invade Iran? There is a reason majority of Zionist money coalesced around the Republican Party and Trump after 10/7. They knew he was the most likely to deliver

@Absurd_Ruka Not really. Trump is like a toddler with Nukes. They are stupidly but will cause a lot of damage. Look at all the unnecessary deaths in Iran that could have been avoided.

@JoshRainerGold The most impressive thing third-worldists can imagine is a waste-of-paper “PhD in Hegelian Dialectics.” Meanwhile, quants knew the Mullahs would be a paper tiger bc they were already struggling to keep the water & electricity on And Hezbollah was already annihilated by Palantir

@JoshRainerGold Iran doesn't really seem to be struggling for competent scientists, mathematicians, or engineers so this doesn't really seem true, meanwhile hyper-wealthy USA is educationally not competitive with the developed world in all but a few subjects @ a few selective universities

Richard Nephew, the architect of sanctions under Obama, admitted that financial sanctions in Iran were designed the same way, weighing more on basic imports than luxuries. It’s a really insidious kind of social engineering, cultivating envy and greed from a distance.

Reuters confirms why I’ve been saying: the U.S. has been allowing fuel in to Cuban private businesses like foreign-operated hotels but barring it from hospitals and other publicly run institutions. I’m sure that the NYT and The Free Press, which produced entire articles about Hasan Piker’s hotel, will do a follow up now

It's a shame that the Philippines Basketball Association names their teams after their sponsor company, the Metropolitan Basketball Association back then named their teams after their home regions and it led to what I think is the funniest name for a professional team in history

@driscoll13_n @matthew_petti Being charitable, Ukraine wasn't going to go against its patron during a particularly vindictive admin for a country it loses far more for supporting. The personal sympathies of its citizens & govt aren't relevant here, the state's survival is on the line
