The Orlando Magic and Jonathan Isaac recently amended the salary protection for next season. The protection originally increased from $6.5M to $14.5M if Isaac played in 52 games or more. The protection now increases to $14.5M if waivers are not requested by June 28.

ORL saw the production and trajectory of Paolo/Franz (50-13-10 combined last year) and went all-in to acquire Banes.

@TheGhostOfGeert still have to attach more assets to take on that dead money + this years salary. Jett and Tyus would even cost less to move and they’d still get under the tax line. All these guys cost assets to move except Goga and Goga is unplayable in the playoffs. Go watch that Celtics series

My understanding is ORL is currently 5.576 mil over tax line. Seems likely they will want to delay the clock on potential repeater tax which means lowering salary by that amt. I don't see Goga being moved now. It feels like something involved Tyus, Jett and/or JI is likely.

@TheGhostOfGeert No one is taking on JI for 2nds when they have to take on 8 million in dead money when they cut him next year. It has to be Goga and we can’t afford him next year anyways. Goga is getting more than 2nds back too. Goga might get a late 1st back according to the Toronto reporters.
