Salary hits. 1st week – ₹20–25k gone on rent top-ups, Swiggy, Zomato, cafés, Uber everywhere. “Bangalore life bro.” 2nd week – New sneakers, weekend pub hopping, a short trip, random Amazon buys. “Need to enjoy after stressful work.” 3rd week – Credit card bill. EMI. Subscriptions he forgot existed. Bank balance starts sweating. 4th week – Living on UPI scraps. Asking friends to split cabs. “Bro I’ll pay you next month.” Same cycle. Every month. Not broke because he earns less. Broke because lifestyle expanded faster than income. High salary. Zero buffer. One layoff, one medical issue, one bad month away from panic. Unexamined habits make you poor. It's not about living in metro cities only, which people mostly complain about.
