My team were the only journalists in the court yesterday for the hearing where the first suspect in the Nudieland mass shooting at a Minneapolis DIY punk show was sentenced, making @mprnews the 1st outlet with the story and the only with victim reaction mprnews.org/story/2024/11/…

Proud of my team for following this for over a year and building community trust. The depth of this story reflects all of the work we have done since the first story in August 2023.

This folo was a product of two months of reporting. Since my first story in mid-November, a fourth student died by suicide. UWRF is treating the four deaths in 2 months as a suicide cluster. Interviews with grieving families and students, as well as UWRF officials.
