FROM CAMPUS TO GLOBAL STAGE: THE STORY BEHIND @SUIMAIL_ N16,000,000 ($10,000) WIN Yesterday after nervous delays filled with palpable anxiety, the news filtered in that @Suimail_ has just clenched 3rd in the @SuiNetwork overflow 2025 and won $10,000 (N16,000,000) under the Programmable storage section. This is massive news for the Nigerian community so let me unpack a bit. @Suimail_ is a decentralized email protocol built on the Sui blockchain but their journey did not begin with the prize, it started by passion, hardwork and the support of the @suioncampus community. Their story which began just over a year ago, In the city of Minna where a group of wide eyed University undergraduates who had no inkling of what posterity held for them attended the Sui on campus meetup at the Federal University of Minna, @socscfutminna. They were joined by providence into a team and were tasked with brainstorming an idea for a project and what an idea they came up with, @Suimail_!. This project did not have the smoothest ride, it was infact given the jolt of life it needed in the Sui hacker house Abuja under the tutelage of @eis_d_zaster and the @suioncampus team. With this milestone, A group of Nigerian university students just proved that big ideas can come from anywhere -even a campus classroom. Their incredible story is proof that with the right resources anyone can create world class solutions and win on global stages. @Suimail_ is just the beginning.
