Thanks for clarifying. So you're rating PT down based on the food culture and gastronomy there. Which is fair, but I interpreted the OP as being about the quality of the food available - the produce and the types of food. I think @Dagosty10 interpreted this way as well as he talked about the quality of meats and vegetables. I do agree with your point about food in PT being essentially very simple, it's about the quality of ingredients and usually eaten with simple preparation, not complex palettes of flavour. I personally like that, I like to taste natural and high quality produce in simple form, but it's not for everyone

No, not rage-bait. and obviously everywhere if you search you find great food for sure but when comparing culture around food and Gastronomy, PT isn't there. It's kinda raw and almost never elevated, barely any research. Bitoque, Bifana, Francesinha etc. are all serving a purpose, but not taste. Countries like Japan will spend a lifetime trying to figure out the best way to cook an egg. In France even if in tradition you'll have meal like sausages with puree, but also chef will spend lifetime to figure out the best way to make puree. In Pt they will just trow it into a meal. It is not a gastronomy thinking in alliance and taste and experiment. It is closer to German relation to food where it is purpose driven and not taste. And even in Lisbon the best restaurants are often Brazilian owned merging the cultre. We could take recipe by recipe even Croquettes , the Spanish with béchamel base are richer in flavor.

Portugal isn't cheap anymore groceries cost almost the same as other european countries rent is more expensive than a lot of other big cities the only thing we have going for us? good weather and great food that's it

@Dagosty10 @middocapital @miguelgbandeira Everywhere has good food, even England, it's just that in some places you have to look harder for it than others. In Portugal, you don't have to look hard at all, definitely top 5 in Europe for food. I think the guy you're replying to is just ragebaiting.

@steipete @Pigi71_VST @paraschopra Peter have you tried using a decentralised platform like @0G_labs? You can use top tier open-source models like GLM 5.1 but without needing the local hardware.

@Pigi71_VST @paraschopra I use both! Some tasks (crons) work great with locals, some need top tier models. It limits my server/data exposure footprint. I fully understand that it's not perfect, but it's a good step in the right direction.

I don’t get the OpenClaw hype Connecting Claude with Telegram / WhatsApp is trivially easy, you can literally ask it to help you do this and it’ll guide you. Same story with recurring jobs. I just did this - now Claude send me local bangalore news summary at 12pm IST daily on Telegram. Took me 15 mins to build. If the argument is that Claw lets nontech users do this, imagine the security implications when users let an LLM take over their system while having no idea what’s happening under the hood. Making custom scripts and workflows with Claude lets you at least know what you’re configuring on your system.
